How do you picture the forum members looking like, if you have not met them?

was there a toxic waste dump nearby? If so that would explain a lot.

You put the best programmers, educators and social scientists within a small radius and they create toxic waste dump converters.

Visit NY for the science conferences. Let them take you out for coffee.

Do you want to meet IRL?

Not really what you're asking, but there is a regular poster that sounds very wise and experienced. I reckoned he was really good. Then I came across a video of him playing and was surprised by the very mediocre play. Not going to name and shame.
I think I may know who you're talking about. PM me, I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours.

I’m in NJ. If you’re willing to come to Sandcastle the table time is on me.

No deal if you murder me though.

I know the route, its been a while since I took the GWB.

Let me make plans I like to compare NJ Transit and PA BT.

I just like traveling and seeing new pool rooms.

I am delayed by preparing the electronics for a demo show. That is why I am taking my time getting out there.

I set a spec to achieve for my portable electronics and I am behind on testing and development.

From that movie, I'd prefer he met this character and lose the coin flip:

I hope no one is expecting a reaction.

R & D can go faster if you pass the psychedelic society in Nevada.

Is there anything worth visiting in Nevada?

Thanks all I appreciate your participation on the forum.

Wonder no more about me. These are from last month at a big tournament in Florida:

I love the 'Quake' shirt. Once every few years we used to round up the old 90's era gaming crew and play a little Q1 on 3DFX hardware. It's been a while....but still have the gear. Great memories.

Didn't mean to derail the thread. :)

It was a fun game. Rocket jumping to exploit the maps for power-ups really added a level to the game.

Don't want to make anyone feel bad. It's just that I think "hey, I would beat this guy! That means he's mediocre 😄"
I'm pretty stoked when I break and run a 9-ball rack, for reference.
I'm pissed off when I don't run as rack I am supposed to be out.....I'm pissed quite often.....LOL....

Can't really judge off of video performances....some don't perform well on camera.....Could video performances be a modern day dump...to generate action????

There is also levels of mediocre....I suspect 90+ percent that post on here are actually "mediocre"

One local said it best years ago and fits me like a glove ...In Az...most random hole in the wall neighborhood bar...I most likely may very well be the best player in there....I go to a Az pool room..I am above average....If I go to a California pool room...I am average at best ....If I walk into HardTimes Bellflower....I am a sucker ...

I stopped playing about 6-7 years ago..just starting back up...Fargo is 610 for reference...

I know now some on here like to remain anonymous...but to sign up you have a real name IIRC ....perhaps Mike and Mike can set it up so your Fargo is listed in your Avatar....That way you know if the advice is coming from a 490 or 790...

However....any instructor will tell you ...You can learn from anyone.....Even little kids that have no idea what they are doing may do something that you can learn from if you pay attention.

So I don't really associate advice with play level ...some people have way way more knowledge than actual skill......some people have a ton of skill but have no idea why.
