depends on the shot...if I have a lot of room I will use my playing cue. If I need to get the CB up quick, I'll reach for the jump cue.

IMO it's against the spirit of cue sports to contrive to make the CB leave the table bed. It should roll, not fly.

Never mastered the shot, and quite frankly, gave up trying. Even bought a Player b/j cue which now serves as a break cue only. :banghead::crying:

It's OK so long as the CB stays on the table surface.

In my humble opinion the jump shot is a skilled shot like a kicking system is that of skill. I prefer to use my hanshew jump cue with the extention on for longer jumps and the extention off for the closeup jumps.

Of course I love my Frog and Tadpole. As for you coolcue...if you go to the BCA event look me up at Robin's Pro Shop I will having you jumping a full ball in less than 2 minutes.

I hate the jump cue and wish they were outlawed, but I have one and use it and will continue to do so until they are outlawed (ain't happening). I thinking jumping should only be allowed with your playing cue which is a skill I have not yet acquired (at 64 I don't think I'll be acquiring it either).
I think kicking is a much more interesting skill.

My preference 1)I try to find a kick path. 2)If Jumping-alert nearby players that I'm 'launching' (with my break cue). Jumping may be to start a kick or to go at the next ball directly-depends. I'd rather kick or just tie up balls if I have no chance.

Matches can be won and lost wiht a jump. Jump is a skill, just like the break. Lean it and become accurate.

I usually use a jump cue, but I recently put a little time in and can now jump with my playing cue, though not nearly the nice little hops that I can do with my jump stick.
