...i break ..nine on the break...they rack again..crack..nine on the break...they rack again...crack..nine on the break. they rack a forth time wham...no nine on the break, but the one lands right in front of the nine with the nine right in front of the corner pocket which i play...he removes the rack and sure enough just a quick as an arrow the nine balls screams into the pocket..

What kind of break cue do you use sir? :D :D :D

i have been around for many years.been to many halls .seen alot of things.but i will never understand why some people get so upset playing pool.i mean fights erupt, lives lost and for what? cheating no .simply because they got beat or are getting beat in a pool game !

It makes me uncomfortable when people get real upset because if I'm playing really well I get gigly. Sometimes I have blurted out laughing and made up an excuse at what I was laughing at. LOL Sometimes I can feel myself getting ready to laugh and I just take a bathroom break and laugh my ass off in there. Good thing I don't play that well all the time or I would get my ass kicked.:)

I was playing in a local bar league back in my mid 20's and a guy thought he safed me on an 8ball behind a corner point and the 8 was behind the opposite corner pocket point. A week before that, I saw a local pro get out of the same situation, I practiced and this time in league, I pulled off the 3 rail bank and made the 8. The guy, his team and the owner of the bar asked me to never come back again. 2 guys had to walk me out to my car cause the opponent said he was going to his baseball bat.

And there wasn't even money involved? That's crazy. And why the owner?

I was playing a drunk in a small single elimination weekly tournament one time..... I was playing good, but nothing special. The straw that broke this drunken camels back though, I break and run out on him to finish him off 3-0. He doesnt come over to me to give the obligatory handshake...... no he walks over to the barbox and flips it over. Everybody in the whole place stops what they are doing and looks, the table thumped the floor hard enough to stop the jukebox and knock over a couple drinks, Im standing there laughing my ass off....... because he is holding his groin screaming in pain... :D Was one of my favorite pool moments.

I believe I told this story on another thread but oh, well.
I was playing in a weekly $10 9 Ball tourney and drew a player who was known to have a violent temper when he lost.
Through the match, he was getting mad and he's face kept getting redder by the minute as I beat him 5-0.
I went over to shake his hand which he wouldn't do when he jumps up and shouts, "You no-gamblin' ****! Freeze up $500 or a $1000 and let's play some!"
I looked at him and said in a very calm voice, "Let me ask you something. Why would you want to pay $500 or $1000 for a lesson I just gave to you for 10 bucks?"
You talk about going ballistic. He picked up his cue and javelin threw it through the wall about 20 feet away and stormed out the door.
Next day, he came in with a couple of guys and repaired the wall. Really, away from the table, one of the nicest guy on the planet.

I've seen several guys just explode over getting into a bad gambling game.

One of the guys frequents the pool hall i goto and constantly gambles 25-50$ sets and generally loses. He tends to get into a game thats over his head yet he cant back down cuz he loves to gamble.

On two seperate occasions I've seen him break the shaft on his pool cue, after loosing 150$

Nope, no money involved just a typical league night. The owner was the financial backer of the team we played that night and everyone on their team thought I was a ringer/hustler that my team brought in for tough matches and since no one (I guess that night) ever saw the 3 rail bank I made, it probably didn't help making it look so easy. All the guys on the other team were more drinkers then pool players, I was the opposite and showed it that night.

I learned a lesson though, don't show too much in a place that doesn't want to see it. ;)

I got Mike hot enough that he married me. :D

Oh, you meant mad...I don't think I have made anyone lose it on the table. I guess one guy did want to punch me out once when I won some money from him, but I smoothed it over and appealed to his ego. Normally, I am just a nice lady and joke a lot around the table....and quiet during competition. ;)

LMAO Too funny.

Well, for a little come back.

I guess there is doubt now that your name on here is referring to your pool skills.:D

Come on Dr Phil, you know what he means.

I USED to know, or so I thought, but not anymore. What I "knew" turned out to be one of the biggest lies around. So now I reject it whenever I can.

All around me I see people complaining about being offended by someone else's behavior or speech. And I see these offended people resorting to force to shut up or violently control someone that offended them. Not physically hurt them, but merely offended them.

But then I think, can someone else really offend me if I don't give them permission to do so? That beaaatch slap to the face made the answer obvious.

This false paradigm that weakens the soul is the really offensive item to worry about. People who can't or won't control their emotions, due to laziness and mysticism, expect the rest of us change our peaceful speech, EVEN IF IT IS TRUE, simply because these weaklings can't/won't control themselves. This is offensive because of the force these cretens use to feel better.

What is so hard to understand about THAT, people?

In years past I ws known to have played some very, very long sessions. Thus the Ironman was born. From years past. Nothing lasts forever.

About 6 months ago I played a fellow 14 hour session of one pocket. I used to believe that if they were still playing after 12 hours and it was close, they were mine.

Going into the 12 th hour on this night, I was wondering about calling the paramedics. The next day, my hair was sore.

Actually, I agree with you. It was meant very light-heartedly.

A game is only a game if two people play it.

I am just curious, because it has happned to me a couple of times. When you are in dead stroke and just playing unreal...what the maddest you have ever made some one..i dont mean talking trash , but they just lost it because of how well you were playing...i can remember when i was in my prime at age 23 or so..i made a guy so mad that he litterly started crying when he went down to the end of the table to rack. I almost bit my tounge in half from trying not to laugh..casue if i had let out even a snicker...i knew he was going to pick up a pool ball and hurl it at me..ha ha ha ha ha..it was halarious...

LOL I was playing this guy from out of town $5 racks of 8 ball on a bar box at the pool hall . I got him a quick 8 racks in a row and the guy punched himself in the face so hard he almost knock him self out. I all most pissed my pants it was so funny.

It's not hard to understand these idealisms, they're just impossible to impliment. The best one can do is take care of ones self and recognise that the majority of people WILL react in some situations. It can be bad for ones health to assume otherwise.

Controlling my emotions at the pool table was one of the best things I've done for my game, although there is still room for improvement. It was on the golf course that I learned this lesson.

I saw the same thing years ago. I laughed so hard I thought I was gonna croak.

NOW THATS FUNNY...

Several folks have left the room angry but I'm not sure whether it was with me or themselves. I keep my emotions under control but some people cannot, not my problem nor my concern. Some folks just can't deal with losing, insert my previous sentence here.
