How many have you strung together?

lmao

really?

I know it sounds stupid but you we be surprised at the answers I get from people when I ask this no matter what there skill level is. Plus maybe he plays much worse in competitive matches, I doubt it but you never know.

Not that any of it means anything but I'm just wondering for my own reference.

8 ball valley box ran a 6 pack in tourney
10 ball 9 foot 4 1/4 pockets 2 pack
straight pool not over 40

I was playing a 10 ahead set 10 ball with a guy on a diamond pro cut, and proceded to win the flip and run 9 in a row. Then I broke dry, he ran out the table to be 8 down and then broke and ran 18 in a row to win the set.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

i hope y say this was on a bar table, something like this is never going to happen on a big table, for the rest of mankind, even if u say small table,i would still call it bullshot,to run 18 in a row playing 10 ball,is not going to happen anywhere ,anytime or any table, big, small, straight or crookit, please tell us u were joking!

BTW, how big was that fish? :p

Eric >the only thing better than fish stories is...

I been playing for allmost 30 years, iam probably a week A player,i ran 49 balls on 1 of the toughest tables anywhere, table 1 in dundalk(running out billiards),i know i ran 2 racks of 9 ball,a bunch of times, but i dont recall running anymore then that, the table is an old brunswick, with shimed pockets, certain shots u just cant hit hard ,the pockets will not take them,it is a gaffed up table, there is 1 pocket on this table that if u hit the qball with any low english(with inside or outside)it just wont go,and i knowed it for over 25years and that pocket still gets me today, this table was not builted for a speed player ,that likes hitting balls hard,u have to be a spin ur ball player, finess or hit everything soft,to do good on this table.

The answers in this thread are much like artwork, subjective and open to interpretation.

I recall a recent thread by CJ Wiley stating something about the odds of Earl Strickland - a world champion - running 11 in a row were astronomical.

Lots of folks claim to have won the lottery in this thread, on more than one occasion.

I can't help but be a bit cynical or I suppose AZB is just chock full of underground world champions.

Go figure.

You're just a *hater*, Steve.

So, you, me, Dave/Spidey and Richiebalto are the ONLY guys in this thread that haven't run double digit packs.

8-Ball: I broke and ran 3 stripes, hanging the 4th rather unluckily.

9-Ball: 2 Pack. Made it on the break twice in a row.

10 Ball: Never made a ball on the break, so a zero pack I guess.

Striaght Pool: Never played. Seems too easy and I prefer a challenge

3-Cushion: Got close once after playing 3 hours and quit out of frustration. (the pockets on the table were way too small)

24 pack for me, give or take a couple. At an outdoor concert, took the better part of a day, hungover for two.

How about me? Can I join?

9-ball: once ran out a complete race-to-7 set (7-pack) at Jack & Jill's (Brewster, NY) Sunday 9-ball tournament two years ago. 9-foot GC1
14.1: 133 (at Q-Masters in the late 1980s while serving in the USN). Latest high run: 112 on January 10th of this year.

Sorry, no double-digit packages from me. :( I hate 9-ball anyway. :p

First off, the odds of Earl running an 11 pack are very far from astronomical. However, the odds of ANYONE doing it at a certain time IS astronomical.

I can't help but get a chuckle out of those that think the claims in this thread,(with the obvious exception of one), are far fetched. Just because you haven't seen it, or can't do it, then you think no one else can either.

The big thing you are missing, is that this is about HIGH RUNS, not average runs. Just because someone has a good high run in no way means that their average runs are anywheres close to their high run.;) You play enough years, and at some point everything comes together just right, and you get a real good high run, provided you can play decent to start with.

From Cj Wiley's thread....

I'm looking forward to finally telling the inside story....the odds were 7.8 million to one.....

Seems to err slightly on the side of astronomical to me....
