how many racks ran on you?

There is a thread asking how many racks you have ran which makes me wonder how many racks have you had ran on you? Top one, or top three if your memory is good!

I was down three games before I picked up a stick once but that was called pocket on the break. Guy wasn't that lucky, he went on to be the player of that decade or the next. Actual break and runs the most I can remember is two, seems like three might be possible but I'm not sure and I spent a ton of time on bar tables. Most I have seen in person is seven racks of eight ball following a run out on the other person's dry break. Worked well for me, I was shooting partners with the guy that ran the seven racks. He ran halfway through the next rack and left me an easy three or four balls to clean up.

this is a hell of a thing to brag about, but I think I hold the record::

Jimmy matya ran 8
Buddy Hall ran 8
Allen Hopkins an 8
Danny Medina ran 8
Dick Lane ran 8
Danny Medina ran 8
Dany Medina ran 9

I have more rack expeience than anyone on the planet!!

That's a hellova list with Dick (hundred ball no count) Lane being the runt of the litter.

sore fingers

I played SVB around thanksgiving of 2007. We played about 5 hours and I won 2 or 3 games, I know there were a few 6 packs in there, I wasn't really counting. (too busy racking) I almost broke and ran one rack got so excited I jawed the eight!

Ironman, that burns a little. It seems that every time I'm on the receiving end like this it's in tournament play. I've had plenty of guys run out the set on me from my first mistake or even dry break but always when I'm playing nearly perfect:

I played Melvin Sharpe at the Colfax Billiards Sunday race to five, had him 4-0 out of the chute, I shoot at a long combo and hung it, all she wrote, he ran out the set from there.

Ran the opening 5 (to 11) games on Danny Harriman, shot the wrong ball (5 before the 3), passed on a push, kicked 2x and shook his hand with the score 11-5.

Ran the first 6 (of 7, this time) against Ruben Silva Jr; I broke dead leaving the 1-9 wired, Ruben runs out the set never having to shoot past the 4 ball for the remainder of the set ...

I played Bill Skinner in a race to 7 at Shakespear's had him 6-1, missed a tough 7 ball (nearly frozen to it), left it as tough or tougher and he runs out and follows it up with a package of 5 to run out the set.

I've had similar experiences gambling, but managed to be enough ahead to fade the flurries:

I had a local named Jim stuck deep on a barbox, gave him the wild 8 and he either made the 8 or 9 on the break for the next 7 racks to get nearly even and once he broke dead he quit me that game and paid off and ran home.

I played another local "Truck-driver Frank" and played very steady on him and was up about 13 games and hit me with package of 9 ...

my buddy broke and ran a 6-pack on me a lot of em against me.

But the SICKEST set i every watched.
In the finals of our weekly tourny, that same buddy broke and ran 3 off the toss. hooked em solid in the next game. won it, and broke and ran a 7 pack to win at 11

perfect pool for 11 games in a row!

Dick is a gret player, but his run of 8 took so long I darn near quit pool! After watching hime Icouldn't swing straight for 3 months!

He really was!! If VanOver didn't live there he mighta been the best tourney player in the state for more than a minute.

Big runs against you is nothing more than an indicator of weak sharking skills :D

Got to work on those anti-package tactics. ;)

JK. I'm a good sportsman so I'd rather eat the 6-pack or larger and lose badly than reduce myself to sleaze tactics. But sometimes I really feel like that's yet another reason why I'm not real pool player. For real pool players, it's stop the package or sleep in the car (again). :o:grin-square:

Cheap 9 ball, race to 7, Sandor Tot broke first and ran 9 (7-0, 2-0). I managed to win the 2nd set and ran away :)

I was playing my friend a race to 5 for a soda, he freezes the lag and runs a 5 pack on me. There was one 8-9 combo, but the rest were full runs. That was sick, lol.

The last time I played Kirkwood on a 9', we were just practicing. He wanted to play for a soda, so I said yes. He won the flip, and I told him not to miss. He didn't. He ran the set to 7 out on me. I never even got to hold my cue! He must have been awful thirsty!

LOL, in a situation like that Neil do you buy all the sodas at once or just purchase them over time? I think I would buy them all at once and leave the tray for him so he can carry them around. :D

Finnish Team Championships final a few years ago, I was playing a solid Finnish player 8-ball race to 8. I break dry, he runs the rack and 6 more to lead 7-0 and breaks dry, I run the rack 1 more to 7-2 and break dry, he runs the rack to wins 8-2. Nice match, 1.000 stats for both :) But I was hoping that he'd run the whole set out just to get a better story out of it ;)

I had 5 run on me on a bar box 8ball
2 right handed
2 left handed
and just to rub salt in it 1 one handed...lol
