I can't blame a man for trying to defend his reputation.
John Barton makes a great Cue Case, but if your are a buy American kind of member, person you can not go wrong with a Dennis Swift Cue Case made in the U.S.A.
The man doesn't talk to himself or argue alone. People must enjoy him
to some degree or the wouldn't find the need to engage with him.
Imo, I don't mind reading his perspectives even if I don't agree with all
of them but he does have the right to say them as we all do.

Funny thing is the only place I have ever been were one party was conducting an argument with himself was a training day at the Old Sepulveda VA Hospital Mental Health lock up ward.

He has a reputation for his knowledge of cue cases and for building them. That will never go away.
His reputation regarding pretty much everything else, well, thats entirely on him.

He plays the Devils Advocate, well he thinks that he does anyway, very cleverly. He thrives on it. Sure, many of us have said something out of line at one time or another and got to arguing that escalated into crap.
I asked the War Dept. what the medical term was for that action. Honestly, she said, "Pompous Jackass". I said, "Really".

But, I think that most of us already knew what the diagnosis is.

There is a long list of people who in my opinion have done less and are long gone. Luckily for JB I don't make the rules. I'm sure that Wilson if he had his way would have hacked that mole once and for all.

You should come down to Texas, the little state on my left. Fishing all morning and shooting pool in the afternoon/evening is exactly UJ Puckett's thing. UJ always seemed like a fun guy and rumor has it that he hasn't let being dead for a good while now interfere with his fun!
'Nudder thing, the fish stories will be well remembered after all this silliness is long forgotten.

I concur, he ruined his own reputation. He has openly admitted that he has bad customer service, which I have personally experienced a few times. He makes a great cue case, though. The man definitely knows how to make a cue case, but I'm not sure if he knows how to run a business that he wants his to be.
But that's not the point of the thread. The point of the thread is about John's arguments, to which I also agree with the OP. John's arguing needs to stop, it's annoying and a waste of space on this forum. I don't mind John being here, he has contributed a great deal to the forum, but he has also ruined threads with petty arguments.
John really has no one to blame but himself, he simply can't back down from an argument.
The sad part is how many here take such glee in egging him into those arguments. There are several who you rarely see post anywhere else, save to reply to John. Usually with the intent to get him wound up. Cuz they know it will work. The J Flowers Case threads proved that, once again.

The thread was not about me, and I am only guilty of expressing my opinion on John's ability in his craft.
If you would like to talk about me, please feel free to start a NEW THREAD, as I am sure you would get people who would express their opinions.

This is both astute and depressing.
I don't want Barton banned but there's no doubting he's a complete lunatic and a distraction to the ethos of the board. Fewer sellers, more teachers, please.
