Could anyone try to give me some kind of idea of how meny pool players there might be in the world. Would there be anyway to find out? I know it might be a silly question but somewhere close is all i need. Any imfo would be grateful. Thanks Doug

I think we would first need to know what you consider a "pool player." A ton of people play pool from time to time but a far fewer percentage are actually pool players. This will be a difficult question to answer....even an educated guess would be dang near impossible.

At one time, the World Pool-Billiard Association (www.wpa-pool.com) had a list of over 900 ranked players in the World. I might have that list somewhere in my computer files. If I find it I will send you a PM.

There are over 39 million players in the USA alone. Maybe triple that or more for a world total. Click on the link below.

I would estimate well over 100 million people play pool every year. And with the way it is growing in China, you can probably double that in a couple of years. They love pool over there.

Thanks for all the imfo. As most of you know i am the inventor of the stroketrainer. I am doing some research on how to make my business better. I know if i could get the price down on the stroketrainer i coulld sell more. My think is reaching the people. I have did the advertiseing thing in the magazines with the results of selling 1 after spending a ton of money in them. I also did an add on here and it did help some. Mos of my sells have came from tournaments wish i use to do about 4 a year but it got so expensive i had to quit doing that. All i was doing was breaking even. When i ask this i was thinking of people that might be interested in buying the ST if i could get the price down. With the aluminum being so hi its going to be kinda teff. Anyway thanks again for your help, Doug

it would be alright if 'meny' were another word just misused, but I don't believe it's even part of the English language....

I think that I can help you out with this!!!

Go to the Ocean, drain it and allow it to drip back into the hole created!!

Divide the number of drips by the estimated population of the Human race, and subtract one third of that number. Then mulitple by PIE, this should bring you close.:D :D :D :D :p

Have a good night!!!!

C'mon guys. Let's not make fun of the op not being able to spell good or use proper terminology. I was able to read it.

Joking apart, as most of us like to see anyone make a nice honest living from pool related products, sincerely hope you approached a friend, colleague or professional adman to write the text of the advert.

On a very loosely related note (absolutely not having a go at you personally here mr8ball), we've all seen those TV adverts where the owner of a small/medium business gets the absurd idea that it would be effective for himself to be the leading writer and presenter of the ad video. They almost invariably turn out to be toe-curlingly bad at it but a posse of yes men are usually unwilling to tell them the truth, leading to some appalling adverts and considerable waste of money:)

Thanks anyway

Hello again, Sorry about the spelling and grammar. I am just a country boy with a 10th grade education but I did have the smarts to develop a billiard training aid that has helped a lot of players. I also have a product that has a lot of top instructors that endorsing it. Maybe somewhere in life I figured it was time to do something with my common since and try to help SOME pool players play better. SO with that said as usual every time I post here I get bashed by someone. Thanks for the input, Doug

Hey Doug, don't worry about the bashers. You don't get hit by the tomatoes until you stand up buddy! They understood what you were asking.
By the way, how's your back coming along?

Doug, about your income / expense problem with the trainer...

Have you considered plastic i.e., injection molding? Yes, the set-up costs will be high but once that's absorbed you could get production costs down to around $20 per unit or less. Then do a .60 profit margin and sell the thing for around $50. You'll increase sales by a factor of 10 overnight! Then get a major supplier to stock it (Muellers, Ozone etc...) Do a few spots on TV tournaments, mabey sponsor a pro and get them to promote the item in your ads.

Look at the Sardo tight rack, look at their original unit from years ago. It was heavy, elaborate and expensive (over $200). Now it's simple molded plastic and only costs $60.
