How Much$ Do You Bring to PHall?

One of the earliest lessons I learned in the pool hall was that it takes money to make money. You will miss out on alot of opportunity if you are not holding a decent bankroll in the pool room. Going to the pool hall short is about as frustrating as being in Las Vegas with no money.

How much? and when?

Not sure who you were replying to?

If me, the answer to the first question is "enough" and to the second, 1/5 thru 1/10.

This has to be the dumbest dam question I have heard on here yet.

I am talking about the original question.

Honest I am not much of a Gambler.

As I said not much of a Gambler.

When I got to a Local Weekly Tournament I bring about $$7.00-10.00 to cover the Entry + Green Fees.

Never enter Side Pots

Also Bring the Price of One Beer/Soft Drink/Mixed Drink. I am a One Drink Driver.

Plus $10.00 for an Emergency.

I'm actually happy to see something other than, "Which Schon is this?" - "What tips do you use?" and the ever popular "Which pool movie is the best?"

I never enter a pool room with less than 200...and I also don't go blow the whole wad in one set. I will play cheap sets with my friends, race to 5 for 20 or an APA league match for 20, either 9 ball or 8 ball. If someone is giving me the nutz, I will bet more...just depends on how I am hitting em and how I feel.

Could be- but, did ya notice that it has 11 views and 10 replies? 1 view is the orivinal post, so that means that everyone that viewed is replied. That's power, babeeee!

Yeah, that stat is probably not true anymore, but it was fun while it lasted.

If you are into matching up, you MUST bring plenty. I almost always bring 1k to 2k. You never know when your dream fish will come in, and you must be ready. My personal experience with pool action is there is steady cheap action, but rarely high action. The high action might only happen once a year, but again, you have to be ready for him.

Usually I go with about 50 bucks... Im not much of a gambler but occasionally I'll get into a matches of 9 ball like races to 5 for 10 bucks and stuff like that, but that is just occasionally. Not often. Most of the time I go to practice with a friend out in public rather then at our houses.

I take at least $200 as well. I like to play $10 or $20 pool, and that gives me enough for a 10 game shot.

If I lose that, I figure I'll shoot at them again later.

I usually carry about 1500.00 give or take a few bills. I play mediocre but can not stand to play cheap. If I gamble my minimums in races are to 4 for 50 or 7 for 100 and I usually get bored quickly with that. The only way I can stand to play cheap is to play ring games. We usually have a regular 5 and 5 game every week about 6 handed. I enjoy those even though it is not real good action. I also like to be prepared if someone has a stick that I like and is for sale. It is much easier to make a beneficial deal if you have the cash in hand. Hope one of you don't try to mug me because money ain't all I am carrying.:D

how much????

well i have learned that you need to be prepared for all occasions so i carry about 500-1000 on me at the pool halls... but more money is just an atm trip away if needed... plus there is a few guys at the pool hall that like the way i play so money is never hard to come by if the game is right... and im there EVERY DAY... from about 4:00 to 3:00 (when it closes)

I'm getting ready to go play right now and I have ...(counting)....63 bucks. A pretty good junk for me;) There was a time (premarrige and prekids) that I wouldn't bother to go out unless I had 500-1k. 5 a game or 20 dollar sets is all I can shoot these days. Happy New Year everyone.

when I gambled

A bit to flash when I reached in my pocket, just two or three times what I wanted to play for. A good bit more in a boot or another pocket in case a fool and his money were begging to be parted or I really felt that luck had lightened my pocket to begin with. I never drug the roll out in public.
