How much $$$ do you have invested???

That's the joy of being single...I don't have to plead the 5th.

I shoot with a custom sneaky pete...$100
A cheap 3x5 case that I snagged off of Ebay because it was unique...$63
Usual tools and toys...$50

I got the case because it was unique. Unfortunately, it's no longer unique. Suddenly, 3 other people around here have acquired the same case. I'd get a different case if it wasn't for the fact that this 3x5 case is lighter fully loaded than an In-Stroke 2x4 is.

For a while I was breaking with the sneaky pete and shooting with a Joss worth about $500 but I went back to the original configuration. The Joss was "borrowed" and I've never liked that "I owe someone something" feeling.

Skip Weston: 900.00
Sherbine: 300.00
Sledgehammer: 250.00
Porper 2x4: 75.00

Total: 1525.00

Worth every penny.....

Hamster...It appears that great minds think alike!...I'm doing away with the deck to create...you guessed it, a pool room!...and gals that play rock, although I guess when your married to one it can get expensive! :D

Mine started out as...

'Lets get a coin-op and put it on the patio'.
'Won't it get wet?'
'Yup'
'OK... no problem, we'll put a roof over it...'
'Won't it be kinda drafty in the winter - we better enclose it as well...?'
'If we're going to enclose it, maybe we should get a better, furniture type of table...'
'I know someone who makes custom tables!'
'We can't put that beautiful table on the patio stones - maybe we need a real concrete foundation.'
'If we add windows all round, it'll be just like a Florida room'
'I think we need a permit...'

'Where's my check book..."

Wow, you paid 150% more for your j/b than your player?!

Not sure of value but here's what's in my case (prices are what I paid):

Case: Jay Flowers - $400
Cue 1 - Richard Balck - $2200
Cue 2 - Wes Hunter - $1000
Misc Accessories - I always carry masters chalk, towel, and a tip tapper, other than that the pockets are pretty empty.

There you go, not sure of value, but I don't really care, they're not for sale anyway.

I'm not familiar with the current value of the pound...what is this in yen, pesos, or rubles?

try this: http://www.xe.com/ucc/

People have a lot invested..... I almost feel kinda bad considering im having problems just coughing up cash for table time now.....

I have really only 2 decent cues. An orchid cue my brother gave me a long time ago (i have no idea how much it is, but give or take 100?) and a fury dl. Then i have a cheap graphite cue that i got for 40 that i use for breaking. Sterling suitcase for $19 and another soft case for the break cue that was $10. Then i had to sew a sleeve with strap to carry the 2 cases as one. The rest would be bridge hand, talc, glove, boxes of cue tips, cement, and countless of other tip tools. I guess that would total to about $500. Kinda sad considering ive been playing so long and that my cues only make up half of what i "invested". I spent most of my time playing with the orchid so that has a lot of sedimental value to me.

I am looking to buy a mcdermott and snooker cue though, so that should raise up the amount i have invested.

Great link. Now this makes more sense.

8,999.23 yen (45 pounds).......3,999.66 yen (20 pounds)

2,395.74 rubles (45 pounds).....1,064.77 rubles (20 pounds)

945.784 Pesos-MXN (45 pounds).....420.348 pesos (20 pounds)

Of course as everyone knows, the Argentine peso is valued differently than the Mexican.

9K for a break cue!?!? Wow! :D

I play a lot in bars, so I usually use my lower end equipment:

$300 Dale Perry w/$200 Annie O shaft
$270 Nitti break cue (16oz) including orig & TigerX shafts
$170 4x8 leather case (not Instroke)
Plus all the misc equipment: Box of Masters, few tip tools, bridge head, some extra tips, red circle ball & "good" bar box cue that will return on most tables.
We'll say $60 in misc stuff to make it an even $1000 in actual playing equipment.

I also carry a backup DP Radial shaft (about $200) and the orig DP shaft.
I usually have a 5/16x14 Pred 314 shaft ($180) in the case too.

Of course it is a 4x8 case, and those extra holes would get lonely, so I usually have them full as well. That could be anywhere from $500 to several $1000. I bring different cues with me as the mood strikes and bang balls around with them before things get "busy" in the bar.

not much...dz sneaky $240, misc chalk, shapers, old joss shaft that I don't have a butt(shaft was a gift) for and other junk $30, jump stick $55, and a 2x4 leather cowboy instroke copy case that I got for $100 used.

so thats $425

adding another cue in the coming months that will more than double the little investment

Question about pool room addition

For those that put in an addition to their home- how did the costs break down? I am thinking about adding a room to my home.

I do not want to think about how much I have in equipment. It is way too much.

If we're ever in the same room, blah blah, and one of us forgot his stuff, we could use the other's.
