How much does your playing cue weigh?

I use a 19 oz Cuetec R-360 with the 6" Cuetec extention left on it. The cue is 64" long and the weight is about 20.5 OZ. My tips are about 1/3 to 1/4 of a whole single layer tip. Johnnyt

My cues vary, my lightest playing cue is 19.5 the others are between 20.5 and 22oz all are 60 inch cues.

There is a point in increasing or decreasing cue weight that will limit what you are trying to accomplish. A lighter cue will slightly increase stroke speed and a heavier cue will introduce weight for power into the stroke.

Good points, Mike.

You're right, balance is more important than weight.
I hold the cue right at the end of the butt too, so I usually have to add weight to get the balance right.
Personally, I have yet to find a cue under 20 oz that felt right to me except for a 19 oz Tad I tried that was balanced perfectly. But alas, it was a couple of zeros out of my price range...

cue weight

For me 19.5 - 20. and the balance point to be between 17 and 18 inches
I have tryed to go lighter many times but always go back to to 19.5-20.
I do like to practice with a lighter cue some time. I think it helps with my
stroke and control. I think the balance point is just as important as the weight. Balance point of 17 - 17.5 will give a light cue a little heaver feel . JMO. take care, john

My cue weighs exactly 19.0oz with the lighter(4.0oz) of my 3 shafts. I've been using this combination since around '93. Prior to that my other TAD was a beast at 21+. I did start, way back when, with an 18.oz Wille Hoppe. The 18oz. Hoppe proved to be just way too light and I switched to a 19oz TAD for a while then to a heavier one. I did play with the 'beast' for quite some time until I came across my current cue.

The balance and butt size along with the weight suit my style of play just fine. I do have a couple other 19 oz. cues but the balance and weight distribution don't feel as good as my player...soooo subjective.

My wife has a 17 oz Scruggs with a 20.5" forward balance point. She took the weight out of the back. I really like this cue because it is forward weighted.

I play with a Capone custom cue. 20 oz with a 20" forward balance point. It feels as light as a feather and with the OB1 shafts it hits quite and very solid. I have tried a whole lot of differenct cues but none feel as good as this cue, except my Sceptres, which have 22" forward balances and are the ticket indeed.

my Jacoby is 18.8 oz, but I've tried and liked cues from 18.2 - 19.6....all depends on the balance for me.

Weight

For years and years, I played with a 21 oz, and then I got a custom cue that was 20.2 oz and liked it a lot. The cue I play with now is 19 oz, and the balance on it is just perfect.

In a little over a year, I plan on having another custom cue made, and I want it to have the dimensions and balance point that my 19 oz cue has now.

My Runde is 15.2 and I play with a 3.9 and two 4.4 shaft depending on the game. My titlist conversion is 13.7 with a 3.9 shaft. My Runde schon is 15.5 with two 4.2 shafts. My snooker cue is 16 IIRC. I play with all four, it just depends on where I go.

I'd love to try out Earl's monster cue, without the arm weights though.
I wonder where the balance point is on that thing:confused:

My Shooter is 17.3 and my Breaker is 18.1 . I did get a R-6 and have it down to19.3 and I like the balance . If its balanced good I can shoot with it . Jim

Watched a guy jump with my playing cue better than I can jump with a jump cue. My god, my cue is ****ing SICK!!!! I love the hit so much after watching this "jump expert" playing with it.
