How much would to pay to spend the day with efren

I am talking about Efren Reyes coming to your local pool hall and you are the backer. Seeing how the local hot shots that are always trying to get you into a game you can't win react when you bring in the most feared pool player in the universe.

How much would you pay Efren to come to your town to do such a thing?
 
Probably not very much. More than likely we'd just sit around and chew the fat because I seriously doubt if we could get a game, him being Efren and all.
Of course, a conversation with Mr. Reyes wouldn't be to bad. He could tell me about all the big money games he's been in, and I could tell him about how I accidentally backed into the poolhall owner's car out in the parking...oh crap. :)
 
Believe it or not

most of the players around where i live would have no idea who he was.
Unfortunatly there are no big money players around either.

just provide a chess board a deck of cards and food and Efren will be happy.

He has said if you want to invite him to an event, the best thing to do is wait until he is already going to be the the U.S.

He said if you pay the plane ticket from LAX and hotel he would be glad to attend events.

Efren is fun to be around and is like a big kid.

Bingo you are 110% Correct many people who play pool on a regular basis have ZERO IDEA who Efren Reyes is or Earl Strickland, or many other Top players. Bud some know of this pool player from BEER Ads.

Seriously? I'd pay a lot to have a week with Efren. Just hanging out, playing absorbing the stories.

I really truly honestly believe that there is MONEY to be made by having fantasy pool camps in the Philippines. Say 5k for a week of hanging with Efren and Busty, learning, gambling, just doing what they do.

I don't know that I would want to pay for Efren to show up in my town and scare the locals.

But a fantasy camp, HELL YEAH.

Now let me try this on my wife........
 
I'd pay a little for a day with one of the top women players. Do a makeover on her and let the games begin. I always wanted to do that and I'm sorry I kept putting it off. Johnnyt

I would pay $1000 if it included a lesson and picking his brain.
The way Efren lines up and strokes the ball is amazing.
I've learned things just watching Efren play in video's, so spending a day with him would be worth quite a bit.
 
I'd pay the table time if he wanted to hit some as long as he didn't bug me too much for advice.
 
As much as I admire and respect Efren and his game, I would
jump at the chance to spend the day with Rafael Martinez playing
One-Pocket or Straight Pool.

Hate to gloat but I had that day (actually a weekend) and it was amazing. Rafael even cooked breakfast for me, how many can say that? :-)

Rafael is truly one of the most amazing people on the planet when he has a cue in his hands. And is a very nice guy too.

I think I have retold his "counting" story a few times on here of when he snuck on CJ Wiley and robbed him.
 
Question for the OP

I'm just curious. Considering your screenname and the fact that you'r from Texas, were you at that tournament in Houston when he played using that name and nobody knew him?

Cocobolo, I think this (in the short time I've been here) is the BEST post you have typed! He truly is one of the most colorful characters that pocket billiards ever had. Watching those clips, makes me wish I was around to witness them. A gentleman all the way.

I think I need a miller lite now.

Jbcases, I wish I was there. Rafa is one of my favorite players. I wish I had his stroke. I tell you, us Hispanic players know how to treat a host. Did he make you some chilaquiles or what? I would love to meet him one day. Just need to make the drive to northern CA, one day.

Btw, I would just catch Efren when he's in bellflower. I would buy him lunch, dinner, and pay his hotel. Maybe bet a lil on chess (I was my school champ, but was was years ago). Then we'd go to beautiful Santa Ana, CA and I would back him whatever amount. I would introduce his as Cesar, he looks the part, lol.
