Jason...You need another catagory. All you're giving people, is the option for the Predator pool school. You need to include people like me, Randyg or others...which don't cost near that much, but are still viable, and worth every penny (according to our students! ).

I agree. I would never shell out that much money for a predator, allison, or any other PS that was ran by high profile pro's. Seems like a good modern day hustle and everyone goes home feeling like a winner. For private lessons with Randy G, Scott, Jerry B, or any Master BCA instructor, I would pay their rate and get far more out of it for my end.

go put $1150 in action and you'll get a real lession. not being a smart ass-you will learn something about yourself and your game, and if you win then hire Scott Lee.

Yep, the title pretty much says it all.
No, you are not saying it all.
You are not saying what we are getting for our money.

How many hours of instruction are involved?
Who are the instructors?

We need to know much more than the price.
As it is, this poll is worthless.

if i really believed that the lessons would help i don't think 1100 is out of line. but to tell the truth i don't think anything could convince me that i'd really learn 1100 worth of information

The best lesson I ever got was for free, it was to never take lessons from sombody that wants to charge you. The old man on the moutain told me that about 2 yrs befor he let me come to his house for 3 days, for free..

I must admit, it was some of the best lessons Iv ever got.

I do have to ad as I type Im watching Accu-stats, Reyes vs Daulton 1998 legends of one pocket w/ Danny and Grady doing the comentary and Id have to say its some d*mn good stuff for 15$

Hell... if I win I don't NEED Scott. If I lose.... if I lose... THEN... I'd better drag my sorry butt to see Scott :groucho:

If I had that much money to throw around I admit I'd like to spend some time with Mika and Francisco.

My one past experience with Charlie left me with unpleasant feelings and this would keep me from buying into this show. I don't want to spend ANY time with him and certainly wouldn't throw any money his way to spend any time with him. See... the thing is... I don't know how much time I have left on this planet and I'm not going to purposely spend any of that time in the company of unpleasant people.

Since you can get a 3-day class with several high level professional BCA instructors for roughly half of what you have on the poll, you really didn't include the best option available for real quality instruction.

You pay for what you get, most of the time.

What would you pay, to gain the skill & KNOWLEDGE, to be an 8 speed player or better.

Don't forget knowledge, there are many bangers that can shoot balls in from anywhere, but have no concept of cue ball control.

A good instructor will give you a great foundation, for you to begin building upon. Bad technique or bad habits can limit your possibilities of becoming a good player. A good instructor can dial you in & assist you in developing a good technique, while in transition from bad to good or from novice to intermediate or from intermediate to upper level player.

What does that cost....? Depends how bad you want to be a 9 Speed Player. Instruction is just one part of learning to play better, practice isn't free either. Coaching along the way adds to the cost. Videos & books add to the price. Once knowledge is gained, application skills need to be refined.

Would you pay $3000 to be a 9 Speed...? I'd borrow twice that money by lunch today, for the assistance to that level. 2 weeks of $100 9 ball, will get your money back.

Good Luck....

$1000+ is laughable IMO. Couple hundred bucks... Ok I'm game. 1000 ? that price had better include a 800 dollar cue with it.

Well Said Steve.

He might be amazed what a little SPF would do for his pool game.

I am curious what it is you get for 1150 BUCKS. How many hours/days of 1 on 1 instruction do you get?

What are the handouts, take away items, as honestly people can only absorb so much information, and then they just forget.

Hell it use to take 16 weeks to turn a RAW RECRUIT into a Basic Marine, and still all you had is a foundation to build upon.

I personally like DVD's, and VHS Instructional material, as you pay for it once, and you can go over the material time, and time again. In the privacy of you home, office, or pool room if you have one of those portable DVD Players.

My sentiments exactly. I think he is an A$$

Mark Wilson charges $250 for all day lessons. I have never sent a customer to Mark that complained afterwards. He coaches many pro level players and is BCA certified. He gives lessons out of our room now and people fly in from all over the country to take lessons. That tells me a lot if they are willing to pay room and travel in addition.

There are the best teachers and there are the best players and it is possible that they could be the same person. But taking golf as an example, the best golfers have never, ever been considered the best teachers and I don't see where pool would be different.

I didn't mention anything about the Predator pool school. Any pricing similarity is totally accidental! ;)
