i have an ebony one piece butt in the for sale section, i guess the one piece butt attracted a few prospective buyers, BUT i am getting a lot of questions about how does it hit compared to brass joint, ivory joint, titanium pin, 3/8 by 10 ss pin, or a dozen other applications. hell, half of what they ask about i have never even shot with.

hit is subjective to the hitter, so when you are selling a cue that the buyer cannot hold in his hands, how do you describe the way the cue plays.

Subjective is the key word, here is my two hundredths on the subject.

Is the cue straight......? Yes
Does it have a tip.....? Yes

The rest comes down to matter of opinion. And everybody has a different one of those...good luck with your sale, I'm sure it hits just fine and is a beautiful cue.

So start with "In my opinion it ...." Pretty sure you have hit with other cues and can compare it to your subjective take.

I don't compare cues, but do describe the hit, usually on a scale from mellow to firm and mild to crisp. Pretty much sums it up without having to compare. For instance, the cue I play with is firm with a crisp hit. That pretty much says the cue is stiff and pingy, something everybody understands.

Said my cues hit ' crisp but not harsh ' that is what I told the lookie loo. I guess he was not satisfied with my description.

Great response... Rep points for you!

What I've seen about every single cue for sale
It's a "monster player"
Hits a "ton"
Best cue I've ever had about sums it up.
Gotta buy it to try it :)

I sometimes tell people my cues hit in between a couple of other name brand cues. I won't post the names here. I would say mine are not as stiff and have more controllable cue ball action than one, and have a little less cue ball action and not as whippy as the other brand. I still call it the Goldie Locks hit. Not too hard, not too soft, just right.

But everyone knows Papa bear and Mama bear would not agree with Goldie Locks on what is just right for them. So it is just right for me.

When some one asks me how my cues hit, I tell them to ask some one that owns one......... I give them names or point them out if we are at the pool hall..........

I must be doing it right because I keep getting people coming up to me a saying...... I shot with so and so's cue the other day............ make me one........
