How to play this..

For me it depends on what cloth is on table. If its something that rolls nice like Simonis or something similar I go for the run out. If its shag carpeting I play safe knocking 8 to top rail. I have had terrible luck on break outs recently on the shag carpeting, seems like when I hit harder I somehow find a way to hook myself or end up frozen to another ball. Slow tables to me is like Kryptonite to Superman. I'm even thinking about buying a Valley to go with my Gold Crown just so I can set the table up slow like some of the tables in local tournaments. All of our tournaments around here are on bar boxes.

Set the cue-ball for the 11...3/4 ball angle for the other corner...
...hit it high with a bit of right english....less than medium speed.

That's the right shot!

Always try to figure out, with which shot you can win the game! Not the shot, that can possibly win the game, but you can possibly lose with.

Play the 11 with a little follow into the other corner pocket - break open the cluster slightly - and have the 12 as an insurance ball sitting in the pocket and for playing position on the 8!

If you play the stop ball safety on the 11 first, a clever opponent wouldn't try to break open the cluster!
He would pocket the 12 and give you another ball in hand!
Than you're faced with the same situation without your insurance ball and the 8 right on the other end of the table!!
So what'll you do now? (Do what you could've done before? Shoot the 11 now and trying to get on the 8 will be almost impossible. NO.)
So you're almost forced to play the stop shot safety again (sending the 6 near the 8 - maybe blocking it or making it hard to get position with another ball in hand).
And what if the opponent just hits the 6 as good as the AZer did so great in his video? Your insurance ball isn't there any more, and you're maybe faced with a very tough shot on the 11 (needless to say what about the position on the 8)...

If you can't see PT 109's shot, can't you just put the cue ball just below the 11, cut the 12 in with left and break out the cluster?
