How to Prepare to Sweat the Mosconi

OK, the waiting is over and it's time to watch the Mosconi Cup. Team USA has prepared and is ready to go. Fans lucky enough to be attending the live event should be just about ready by now.

Those watching on stream, however, must prepare differently. Here's how I prepared:

1) I added an avatar to my AZB handle, one in which I'm found in my most natural pose, sweating a match. It's my first avatar in my eleven years as a forum member. The picture is from the 2011 Derby City Classic.

2) I checked that the Mosconi is found in today's ESPN3 listings. Success!

3) I cleaned my viewing screen so that my picture will be clear.

4) I put a small American flag on my desk.

5) I turned down the volume of the ring tone on my telephone.

OK, I think I'm ready.

I really liked this post, it has one of the best informative/funny ones I have seen without being staight out doen for humor LOL It's like a nicely balanced wine or coffee. Well done. 3 and 4 especially.

I have my cell phone ready to go for the stream since I think ESPN3 stream was blocked by work. And my PayPal account stocked with $50 if USA pulls off winning 8 or more games and I have to pay off Bartrum.

I'm also thinking how I can re-arange what I need to do at work to get it all done by 2 and how much of the matches I will miss when I have to drive home. Last time I think I actually stayed late at work to not miss much LOL

Anyone know if they are doing two 2 hour matches like last time?

I worked from home today to catch at least day 1 live. I plugged the HDMI back into the Xbox because that is what I'll be using to get the ESPN 3 feed. Can't wait.

I had some fish and chips...then some hot donuts...then pressed my shirt and slacks for the fashion police (being color blind I have NO idea if they are the correct color)....then watched a frame of snooker on TV...then wished sjm was here.

Thanks for the thought, Don. I'll live vicariously through you on this occasion. Enjoy the matches and, more importantly, the experience. Good luck to the team.

It wouldn't be bad to have a primary chat room set up for the AZB fans, to pause and give a written cheer to the winning USA Mosconi Cup Team every now and then.

My prep goes like this:

-open separate browser window and hope one of the links works
-leave stream running and hope work doesn't get hectic and I can sneak a few minutes in
-leave volume loud enough to hear but not too loud so that it would interrupt a phone call
-try not to yell if USA steals a match

I'd do the same if I had to Stu, but luckily it is being broadcast in Australia live, so I'll be watching on my big screen and recording every moment.

The only downside is it starts at 6am each day. Might be nodding off at times!

Good luck guys!

It is amazing to me that every pool room doesn't have live streams for their customers to watch while they are sipping their drinks.

I told Ray Hansen of poolactiontv.com that he should hire a commission sales person to sell the annual premium membership to the pool rooms around the country.
