Huge Action Alex Pagulayan vs Justin Hall LIVE July 31 who do you guys like ?

understands high level pool?-That was the same guy who said Alex had virtually no chance playing that yokel 15-4, what 2 weeks ago? because it was too high of a spot-ahahahaha-Must have said it 3-4 times-He knows NOTHING on the subject or if he does know something, he just learned it in the last 2 weeks.

Here is just ONE of his insults and shows of ignorance

Quote ChrisinNC
Regardless of whether its 15, 16, or 17-4, that...

Regardless of whether its 15, 16, or 17-4, that is just plain ignorance / stupidity / greed on the part of him and/or his stake horse to think he can spot a player as good as this guy such a spot,...

Like Alex is a complete dope and makes bad games -How long could he even be following pool?
You are correct - I will admit I was way off base on that post. I do not play one pocket and do not study the game of one pocket. I've played rotation games and 14.1 for nearly 50 years. I based my opinion I expressed in that post on the few games I saw from early in that match in which Alex's opponent happened to have been playing strong and established a pretty comfortable game lead with that huge spot. Obviously his game did not hold up over a multi day marathon session once Alex started playing really well and putting the heat on him - much like he did against Justin. Same concept applies.

well i admire a man who will admit his mistakes so we are good. Most guys around here in the face of all evidence will insist they were right somehow or just shirk away. I think i hate the latter the most.

Thanks, I will attempt not to stick foot in mouth again, on topics I have little expertise in.

Top pros can often give unbelievable spots to pretty sporty players. At that level, they have master not only the physical game in all respects, but the mental game as well. They can analyze a player's game, figure out what shots they are most likely to miss, and then only give them those shots if they are forced into giving up a shot..

This can cause a breakdown in confidence, and a person who otherwise looks strong, can collapse in a very short period of time. I've seen it happen a few times.

You are wrong, but I'm not here to teach you.
Jason

Maybe he meant Choan is the only player that would have a chance playing Alex even in a big $$$ one pocket match??

I mean, I'm sure there are some others that wouldn't be afraid to step up to the plate, but I don't know how many have a chance.

I've said it before. imo, there is no better player for big $$ than Alex.

It's easy to say I'm wrong, but why don't you go out on a limb and tell us who you've got in mind to match up with Alex, playing even, in one pocket, in a longer session, and figures to beat him?

Chris, don’t be afraid to step outside and roll in the gravel.

I referred to Tony as TC in the beginning of that post, stating that he's the only player I could think of that would figure to play Alex even in a long session 1-P challenge match, and have a chance to win.

I can think of a few others that might come close, but in that he just beat one of the top 10 1-P players, playing in his home poolroom on his favorite table, and giving him weight no less - quite impressive.

There's Dennis and that's about it. I think Alex has the edge, though.

Yeah... I dunno about Tony having a real good chance to beat Alex. Alex moves at least as well, and shoots way straighter. It would be a grind, but I'd expect Alex to win an average of 6 to Tony's 5 games.. If Tony blinks even a little, he can get crushed, just like anyone else who fails to fade Alex's heat.

Shannon wouldn't play Alex but i bet he'd play JH even, given 2 days to practice on that table. He beat Efren more than once in the finals of 1p tournies and he is only 46/47

T. Cho is the most creative player playing One Pocket currently at the highest level.

IMO, orcullo is the only one who can trade blows with Alex. I think dennis might even have the edge, but damn that Alex plays HARD. Shit, they both do.

Not sure I'd want to get in the middle of that one anyway

I know tony is a beast, but Alex and Dennis play so tight, tony has to shoot a harrigan or 3 EVERY game to hang.

I don't like those %s, but tony seems to be ok with em :thud:

I think that's the thing with AP. I mean, yeah, he's STEE-RONG in tournaments but for the cash he is RELENTLESS. And just like last night, when he STEAMROLLED Hall from like 3-3 on... right to his hill game when he missed the 11, he was like a Great White smelling blood in the water. He opens those jaws up wide, bares those 6 rows of razor sharpies and closes in quickly. He's a predator, pure and simple, once he gets you wounded. And then it's just clean-up at that point.

Or at least it seems that way to me, watching him.

Okay, I was wrong about Justin.
If there was one guy other than T-Rex and Dennis that I thought could win with this spot on his table it was J. Hall. Big OOPS as it cost me three large to find out that Alex can kill a dragon if need be.
That's why they call it gambling!
