Huge Action Alex Pagulayan vs Justin Hall LIVE July 31 who do you guys like ?

No connection to Roy's Basement, at leas not publically.

I think alex is a bit of a lone wolf...like SVB. They do things on their own terms, you know?

And as far as 2 pinoys matching up for big bucks? Alex is about the only one that I'd believe is 100% on the up'n'up in that scenario.

I think a lot of folks would be hesitant to get in the middle of 2 pinoy set, regardless of the actors.

I'm showing my ignorance here and I know that Alex considers himself as Canadian, but just curious, does Alex have any connection at all to the Roy's Basement
team that Dennis is a part of, that would prevent them from scheduling a challenge match between the two of them?

Seems like at this point, the best 1-P challenge matches on the horizon would have to involve two of the following players - Alex, Tony, Dennis or Shane.

It's no secret Roy's Basement was backing Alex in this match.

And Roy has been behind Alex the last few big money matches he has played.

Roy was the main reason this match came together and got streamed for the fans.

Do any of these big name players play on their own $$ other than Shane?
What do they do with the $$ they win? Gamble it away in the casinos?
I guess, unless you've negotiated this in your arrangement, if you have a
stakehorse like most of them do, you can't pick and choose which matches
you play on your own dime and which ones you want your stakehorse to
cover. Reminds me of when Bert demands Fast Eddie to pay him his cut
of Eddie's winnings after Eddie wins his rematch versus Fats near the end
of "The Hustler" movie.

Shannon wouldn't play Alex but i bet he'd play JH even, given 2 days to practice on that table. He beat Efren more than once in the finals of 1p tournies and he is only 46/47

Well Shannon is a good friend of mine and everyone knows Jhalls my boy. With that being said Shannon should practice the 2 days and head straight to the Cape because he will get played FOR SURE!!!!. Most people on here acting like they don't know Justin played 3 balls under his speed. He played bad and dogged it but people acting like he's a donkey because Alex beat him. They said Flip the coin and they said Alex didn't like the smoke and they had to bet 40k to play again. Wtf kind of bullshit is that. I've gambled all my life and never beat a guy then told him he had to double it to get played again. That's chicken shit and that's a fact.

Didn't even give them a chance to win it back the way they lost it? It wasn't that many games, sounds like they didn't want to play again. That's kind of unfortunate. A high roll in that spot is not acceptable. Sorry to hear.

I stand corrected.

Roy didn't call me and ask if he could do that.
I will have to check our contract for performance detail.

D'OH! I STAND CORRECTED

Roy was very proud of that statement that him and his partner told them they had to bet 40k minimum for a rematch. You tortured a guy for 25k plus the 12k Pepsi lost to Alex and then say you have to bet 40k? Today's Generation find that acceptable and it's sad really.

Scott, talk about greedy, that makes no sense at all to high roll your opponent and require the loser to double the stakes if they want to play again. It would actually be more acceptable if the loser required the winner to double the bet to play again!

Shane isn't always on his own dime either.

In the circles I travelled in the action days, the only honorable way you could quit a winner
was to raise the bet....it was called ‘jack I or crack it’....and that was by the game.

Often a freeze-out was a one set deal....bet whatever you wanna win....now.

Alex is coming back after seeing his kids....and price is going up....
...it’s a strange action situation when people get knocked for wanting to bet more.

Something doesn't quite sound right about that i have to agree with you.

Justin offered to flip the coin and play another set immediately and Alex said no that is a 100% true.

Maybe Alex didn't like the smoke like you said.
Maybe he didn't have time and had a plane to catch.
Maybe his stakehorse said no.
Maybe Alex was tired and said play at a later time.
Maybe he really didn't like the game and spot or table, i really can't say why he declined. You would have to ask Alex that question.

One thing is for sure it's hard to call Alex a nit when he traveled 1000's of miles to Justin's home room and gave Justin every thing he asked for, they played on a very tough table that Justin had never been beat on and gave him the spot he ask for lol

Well I traveled for years and never seen that happen except for people trying to be a not.

Isnt that the hustle? Leaving the player who lost wanting for more? Why win another 20K when you can squeeze for more if you wait?

Just leave and when you come back ask to bet higher because its a new match? Seems as if Alex and Team did just that!

For all those "you dont tell the loser to double up to win money back" <- What kind of money are we talking about? A few hundred, $20 bucks?

20K is something completely different in my opinion. This isnt your regular action match. To pool Players 20K is BIG BIG BIG$. If you dont believe look at AZBILLIARDS home page and see how much the top player has won YTD or look how much the top pool player won last year.

Terry he wouldn't of had a plane to catch because you know they didn't plan on it being over by then. Alex is an old school road player and I'm sorry but telling them they had to bet double basically In order to get a rematch is chicken shit that only rich stake horses would pull. People can try to justify it however but it's a shit move period.

^^ FOR SURE ! He didn't have a plane to catch. It's 8 ahead and has no clue how long it could last unless he was that confident he would win in 2 or 3 days tops.

20k isn't shit to a pool player when the 50k is like 5k to Roy. He should of at least let him play another set for what he lost. You can try to justify them telling him he had to double it all you want but I've been around gambling in pool rooms to long to agree with that. It's a shit move that only shady people try pulling in the pool room. I'm not calling Alex shady but his stake horse pulled a shady move.

If rolls were reversed and Justin won the set and pulled the same proposition on Alex, how do you think Alex and his stable would have liked it? What if the poker player in Vegas getting that huge spot in one pocket had quit on Alex when he was up 12k or 15k or whatever, how would Alex have liked it? Unless it's agreed upon from the get go that it's to be 1 set only regardless of who wins, it's simply not good gambling etiquette to quit a winner after one set without giving your opponent another shot to win it back the same way he lost it - I guess I'm old school.
