I Am The Guy Who Bought Jl

Yes, i am the guy who bought JL last weekend. Sorry I took so long to finally post but my acct was not activated for like 24 hrs. Plus, i actually have a life outside of posting responses to a subject that i didn't even start on this website to begin with. People wanted to hear my side of the story, and i relayed it to the best of my ability through my friend clolson (thanks btw CO2.) I definitely wanted nothing to do with all the drama that has ensued from these events. Anybody who knows me can tell you that I would not have all this happening if it was not the truth. I was not going to mention names and all of that, especially seeing the new TD thread, but I feel obligated to defend myself. The fact that I feel disrespected by an anonymous Jeanette Lee fanboy, makes me feel, as Williebetmore already pointed out, like a loser.

In my original posting through clolson you may notice I never called Jeanette a single name, not even unprofessional or classless. Williebetmore, however, chooses to take the low road and call me a psychotic stalker with rude disturbing behavior! WOW! The fact that you would say these types of things without knowing any of the facts firsthand is truly disgusting. Waiting by the computer so that you can post a reply everytime someone posts a new comment...i'm surprised you get that good of an internet connection that far up Jeanette's butt. I think its pretty obvious that i havent been trying to run her name in the dirt, but apparently, if one stands up for themselves around Jeanette, her "friends" will. Nice.

Now I would like to clear up a couple of things that people still aren't quite sure of. In mine and Jeanette's initial interaction, she did say she probably will buy 1/2 but she would let me know. There was still probably 30 mins to go in the calcutta so i figured she'd let me know within a reasonable time. When Willie says "it was only a few matches later, not the finals" when she approached me again, there was only 14 players in the A-B bracket total, a few matches later is the end of the tournament. I guess I didn't realize how much time she needed. She also was in no way a lock to win the tourney, maybe if she sees she has to play BG, Everett Snow, or Steve Oaks, she doesn't want half...JMO. Nobody lets Joe Shmoe look at the brackets, figure up the pot, and calculate his odds, then let's him have half right?

Like I said, I didn't want to have to name names, but when Brian Gregg approached me about letting Jeanette buy half herself, i said something to the effect of "now, Brian?" or "the calcutta ended 6 hrs ago, brian." He replied, " It's not like that, she's been looking for you" That was when I walked away without saying yes, or no. The fact that she told Brian that she'd been looking for me was preposterous. She had gotten on the mic a couple times, and never asked to speak to me. John Wayne's is small enough to find me if she wanted to. If i see her walking around looking like she can't find something, i'm gonna say "hey JL, looking for me?" And BTW, I also played in the tournament, so I was also busy.

As far as Jeanette's character goes, I am aware that she does a lot of great things for the sport, which I commend her for. I've talked to several people who have seen her put moves on people in the past. I recently learned of something that happened at the Derby earlier this year where she hit an 8ball first, while attempting to hit the 3 ball, and swore it was a good hit. She was gambling with a gentleman whom i dont recall his name, but they were playing 11,000-13,000 dollar nineball.

I'll say again, that I didn't want to have to post all of this nonsense, but I will not let my character come into question for doing the absolute right thing.

Dear Williebetmore,
I am a nobody on this website or in the pool community itself, but if you really live in Indy, then I know somebody who knows who you are. My name is Matt Thompson and if you have an iota of an ounce of heart, you will put your name on here. I just wanna know the name of the man calling me such ridiculous things. That's all.

Thanks Azbilliards, and i want to apologize for again kicking a dead horse...even though Mr. Ed ain't got sh*t on this horse!

P.S. I wanna say sorry to Jack and Brian for creating a new thread after you guys have already made one, but I felt like I needed to address these things.

From all the tournaments I have played in or been around and if I were involve in any calcutta on myself or someone else, Ive always understood that once the tournament started and the first ball was hit by me or the player I bought in the calcutta the 50% buy out is no longer avaible meaning tournament has started and it is what it is.

Sounds like the same old same old. The words between you an JL when she unscrewed is whats at question now. Were you being nice when you said no?

I think she confused me taking a stand and saying no, as being rude and arrogant.

Fair enough. You certainly had no obligation to let her in for half at that point. But people are just trying to understand what was said to make her unscrew.

I have read these threads more than I care too, but its kinda like a car wreck you cant stop looking at

Im not taking sides, but if I were asked Id say I lean towards your side of the fence.

The only thing Id like to know is why did you sign up on two different sites to tell this story if you didnt want to name names or be involved in the drama.

I'm picturing one of those "The Internet can't hide anymore" commercials.
I'm also picturing JL's butt.

I think I understand now

You were the soul of courtesy telling her, "I'm sorry ma'am but you have waited too long to reach a decision and I don't feel it is fair for you to buy half of my Calcutta winnings now" or something very similar.

Jeanette being a woman, an unreasonable creature at best, and never having encountered anything that displeased her during a tournament in the past immediately threw a hissy fit and broke down her stick. However she then decided that she was bored and did want to play a little more pool so she put on a free exhibition for the people there.

Does that sound pretty accurate?

Friends had told me what was going on here in this forum, everybody wanted to know my side. I tried getting on AZ but was waiting for my acct to be activated. I went to the other site just to try and clear things up. It seemed like it was becoming a big deal on here, so I posted.

I would not have even posted tonight if i hadnt felt like i was being attacked.

I just didnt know if you were the first one to post about it (on your own or through a friend) or if your posts were in reply to what was going on.

I feel for ya man, its a cant win game your in.

LOL...Yes. Seriously though, I never called her any names or made any threatening comments. I simply stated things that i have stated here, and when asked " are you telling me i cant have half?" I replied, No. She turned away and unscrewed her stick, which by all means is her right.

I've been on the buyers side all along. The fact remains that regardless of how things happened, unless she asked if she could pay him later and that she would in fact take half for sure, once the tourney starts the issue is a moot point.

She has no stake in the calcutta once the draw is made period. I agree that there is no need to be rude, but I don't see any concrete evidence stating the buyer was.

That being said, in regards to being up Jeanette's butt, I will gladly pay your $140 back and give her another $140 to make that scenario happen.

T-man,
I'm sorry that you got "dragged" into this sordid exchange; I'm pretty sure JL would not have posted anything had your friend's initial post not contained descriptions of her motives that were inaccurate in her estimation. You have your friend to thank for the frenzy that has followed; JL did not initiate the controversy.

As to my assessment later in that thread; I was only listing my observations of fans that had been RUDE/OBNOXIOUS/STRANGE/DISTURBING in the past. There may well be other categories into which you (or I for that matter, with your graphic anatomical descriptions of my location) might fall. Your choice of language in this particular thread is not pristine (perhaps I will need to add a VILE or SCATOLOGICAL or CRUDE or UNCHIVALROUS category if you think it appropriate).

Her friends all reported that she was upset by your behavior, and by your questioning of her honesty. You are free to continue; but you should understand there are people who become upset when you exhibit such behavior.

I'll PM you with my name, it is fairly common knowledge, but I don't use it in the open forum, because the line between poolfan and internet/psycho/stalker guy can be somewhat fine. I'm sure that if we meet, your behavior will be as polite as you contend (since JL was supposed to shrug off direct aspersions, I'm confident that you will as well.....perhaps I should buy you in the Calcutta....How do you play????....more appropriate conversation for a pool site than all this he said/she said garbage anyway...you would have no trouble beating me up).

P.S. - no apologies for watching the site multiple times per day; it's a bad habit of several years duration (trying to break it). I always try to respond if I think I can contribute, to acknowledge interesting or funny posts, or to answer our usual cadre of trolls/haters. This is not a good place for those with thin skins.
