I believe a whole lot of AZre's owe Mr. Wheat an Apology

I've got an idea how this whole sorry mess can get buried, dead, and gone, with everyone getting a good dose of appropriate Kharma.

My idea: Have Mr. Edwards or someone close to him set up a paypal account for donations. Interested AZB members can then donate $5.00 or $10.00. Once a certain amount has been raised, say $500.00 - we get someone over to Mr. Edwards House with a video camera, and we have a video tape made of CE snapping the cue in half, then breaking the butt down with an axe, and then burning the cue in a fire. Cut to a scene of the ashes being scooped up, and placed at the base of a rose bush, and the ashes being watered into the ground. As the camera fades out, words come up over the now out of focus roses that say, "To anyone that feels they need an apology owed..." - fade to black.

The video is then posted on YouTube for all to enjoy, Mr. Edwards keeps the donations. Donors get to enjoy a proverbial pool-world (cue) snuff film, and Mr. Wheat gets to spend whatever time he wants thinking about how much nicer all those roses will look with that fresh ash soaking into their roots.

In the end, EW made the Cue, CW Got the Cue, CW doesn't have to worry about any bad sale to a 3rd party, and we can all walk off into the sunset saying "Ashes to Ashes, and Dust to Dust".

This should have it's own thread.

True dat...

Prolly cause EW isn't posting.

the problem

Quite honestly I was inclined to like Eddie. However it is obvious that he thinks that he can use the same methods and shortcuts that got his life in trouble to try to turn it around. That isn't going to happen. Eddie's intentions may be great but "the road to hell is paved with good intentions". What you actually do, both your deeds and your words are what really count and Eddie has shown himself sadly lacking in both respects.

I wish Eddie well but he has painted himself into a corner on this forum and indeed across the entire Internet pool community which is far reaching. I really think it is time for Eddie to consider yet another new start in another area besides cue building unless he is content to be a local builder. If he tries again, he is going to have to make real changes in himself. When you do things the same way over and over you get the same result over and over.

I read the first post in the thread and replied. No doubt I didn't say much that hasn't been said but I am just skimming the forum tonight as a quick break from storm clean-up and prep for the next one.

I have known Eddie for many years. I know of his past I am in no way condoning his past actions. Some people have to put their hand on the stove to see that its hot so that they know never do it again.

What I am very proud of is that instead of continuing down that path.. he took something he loved "pool" and learned how to make cues. I was more skeptical than most of you because I knew him personally.
For 8 years I never would buy a cue till he got better with the lathe just because he could play pool and knew a good hitting cue doesn't mean he could make one.

I takes alot of time to build a cue and he just shipped 3 out (slow boat to china maybe but he did come through).
Which just further shows he's not out getting into "trouble".

If you look at the last post Eddie hardly posted at all "for once not throwing fuel on the fire". I'm sure he's learning there's more to being a cuemaker than just building cues, yes the business side (he'll make plenty mistakes and he'll learn from them).

I FOR ONE AM POSTING "CUDOS" TO EDDIE FOR OBVIOUSLY TRYING TO TURN HIS LIFE AROUND.

As for my fellow AZer's in todays world we do need to be skeptical this forum is a great source of communication and a good way to protect the other members from fraud and you guys never miss much.

Eddie keep that lathe turning and stay the course it takes time

Know you are adult enough to separate laughing at misfortune from appreciating the 'craic' so I can admit to LMAO at that one.

Would rep it but hitting the rep button is just one of several aspects of navigating the forums (when I get ever get signed in in the first place) which logs me straight back out again and keeps me out, for reasons whicn no-one can explain to me.....just moving on to the next page of a thread logs me out.

Hope you miss the next storm, seems you're owed a break:smile:

looks like we are getting a by

Thanks, it is starting to look like we will be getting a by on the next one. (edit) had to edit before I could finish the post. The last set of computer models just bent it back into my lap! :D all I can do is grin at the weathermen and wait.

Sorry you are having computer or site troubles. I hate flaky issues and this new Vista Home Premium machine I am on has a few too.
