I need a room owner in the LA Area for the Legends and Champions Pool Tour,

I have a couple of places in the LA area that have said "it's ok for Johnny and Earl to do a pool school in their room on July 16th. However I am not sure that we will get the response needed in these rooms. LA is the last place I need to dial in. I need a room around the LA area that has a pool and billiards fan client base. For example a room that holds leagues and tournaments. Does anyone have any ideas or know anyone in a room that you think would be willing to help. This is not something that will cost the room any $$. We just ask for a little help getting the word out to their clients. Please let me know as I need to get a press release out ASAP. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
Mark,

Try calling PLUSH POCKET in Northridge CA. I go there and it is a great place. A real old school players place. Well kept. Nice people. Fair prices. Plenty of tables. Leagues, Tournaments.

Agreed about Hollywood Billiards.

Call Jeff 323-465-0115 and tell then your friends with Corey and Eric ;)

That might get you free parking. LOL!

On second thought, nothing gets anyone free parking there.

A couple of the places I have spoken to are maybe a little too bigtime and get Efren etc there all the time. They have said it's ok to do something but just don't seem that eager to help. I just worrie about that side of it as the Pool School is what makes everything else work out ya know. I still have the list you gave me and I have made attempts and some are good togo and others are indifferent about it. Like I said I think that LA gets it's fair share of pro attention and so it is not as big of a deal as it is in other places. Corey, thank you for all your help. We need more people like you around to help the little guys like me try and make things happen. You guys still looking good for the Best in the West event? That should be alot of fun and great to watch for anyone in that area. A bunch of top notch local pros going at it, I think the bragging rights may be as important as the $$ that alwways makes a great match.

Oh also Corey we have a Production guy who will be following us around in LA, San Francisco and Sacramento doing a behind the scenes on the road kind of thing. I'm talking about the shoulder camera and that kind of thing. Hey I may be on TV or something lol. There a reason not to film it right there,

One possibility is the pool room in downtown Oxnard. It's large, has league play and eventually will have tournaments. They have new owners wanting to appeal to players of all stripes.

I don't know the name of the place, since they recently changed it. I can get their information if you want to pursue this.

Is the Plush Pocket in the same location as the Billiard Connection was in? The Billiard Connection was a nice room, I haven't been there in like 15 years, and don't know if it is open anymore.

Plush Pocket has horrible tables though. Go with Hollywood Billiards. Classy place with great tables.

Did you talk to Danny Kuykendal, owner of DannyK's? He posts on here using his name.

BC was in a different location and closed down long ago.

That room used to be called Hollywood Billiards too. Pro Player Mika Immomen is the new owner. I've given lessons in there several times.

That's right, Scott! Mika is a partner in the room along with Steve Choy. They have ambitious plans for it.

You sure get around, don't ya?

There's also Hard Times in Bellflower. Not sure how the tables are as I haven't been there in years, but last I remember they were good. Also known as an action room, so you'll probably find a decent interest there as many of the players will know of Strickland and Archer.

Best of luck.

Please do post where it will be once it's all worked out as I would definitely like to check it out and know a good number of people who would be interested as well.

There use to be a good room in North Hollywood, California called North Hollywood Billiards, but it could have change, or gone bye bye as it was.

Google say it is still there.

North Hollywood Billiards

A good room, this is not.

It was a great old time 3-cushion billiards room 15 plus years ago. It is a dingy poorly maintained dive today.

Many of the 3-Cushion afficionados of the older era, have deserted N.H. Billiards and joined the local Elks Lodge where they have several well maintained Verhoven billiard tables.

Good call by the folks that mentioned Hollywood Billiards in Oxnard and Danny K's in the city of Orange. Although I have never been to the Oxnard spot, Mika should show his support by hosting something. Danny Kuykendall is a pool player too and I would think will show his support.

Another spot that I have forgotten to mention is Stiix in the city of Ventura - owned by accomplished player Jerry "Baby Huey" Matchin. This also used to be the hang out of Jan (Former WPBA Player) & Jerry McWorter (top notch cuemaker).
