I have found the easiest sets to win are when you are playing someone being staked or your are staking someone and you are up one or more sets and only have time for one more set.

The person being staked has no chance of leaving with any money and doesn't put much effort into the last set.

Example you are up two sets for 1K each and only have time for one more set, nine out of ten times you are going to leave with 3K.

Never raise the bet to the point where the other person can leave with a profit if you only have time for one more set. I knew a guy who was up four sets for 500 / each and raised the bet to 4K for the last set and left down 2K after winning most of the sets. If he would of kept the bet at 500 or 1,000 he would of left winner and probably would of won the last set.

All of these responses are accurate ,insightful land meaningful
I was thinking of something else ,but my experience is that you guys are right on the money so far

there is a lot of need for thinking when you risk your paycheck

I find most players match up too tight when they bet their own

plus a guy needing a stake horse is usually not that good at his job if he
doesn't have enough money of his own by now

another thing i find is staked players tend to try to please their backer and
end up playing overly cautious

i prefer a cautious player to a fearless guy who fires away

I am always getting handicaps and my biggest fear is guys that run out
I am not talking abouta wild man,i like to lay them too, butthey can be dangerous

Assuming facts not in evidence. I have a nephew with a masters in finance who has more cash then the rest of the family combined. He is quite happy to invest other people's money for them instead of his own. It isn't because he doesn't have money.

I would prefer to play someone getting staked also.
Aside from the obvious that a backer probably has more money to lose, the player is going to keep playing longer , and may make a bad game, just to have a chance to make some money.
Then there is the reason a lot of people would not consider.
If I am backing someone and we are losing 500 or 1000 or more , I almost have to keep going.
I don't know if I will ever get a chance to get my money back any day, besides today.
