OK, what is the cheapest, high quality usa made non production good hittin not to stiff but still solid cue that you would buy if your girlfriend/wife would let you if you had to tell her and couldn't hide it in the case cause it looks like the other ten cues you already have??

PM if it is a secret:grin:

In my opinion I would buy a Schon, while they can be looked at as a production cue they are also the only production cue where all the White inlays are Ivory.

So I don't think you can really call Schon a production cue company!!!:)

I guess she caught on to you eh? I would find the top two players in the group of 10 cues and sell the other eight. Then take the money, add some extra cash and buy whatever cue I wanted. Show some pain and she won't mind your gain!

But be prepared.. she will then pick two of her top ten pairs of shoes to keep, donate the other eight to Goodwill and buy 12 new replacement pairs. I know that equals 14 total, but there was a big sale going on!!!

Oh... I would get a nice Leon Sly or Jim Pierce.

The last I knew Roger Long was building a very moderately priced cue that looked decent and was reported to hit great. No real information on them but he is one of the cuebuilders on the short list of cues I'd like to try. I have to admit that I'm more interested in how they play than how they look and I tend to cut my own.

Manwon's cues, Ratcues, a handful from makers on here to choose from while supporting our fellow posters. I'm missing some others that I wouldn't hesitate to support but I'm pretty whipped after a long day, can't think at the moment. When you are inclined a look on the cue builders forums right here on AZB can give you a good idea who you want to deal with. Do a general search on their name if you think you want a cue from them, some are better businessmen than others.

When you are looking for a little cue builder look no further than CueBuddy. He was showing off a beautiful cue he built last time he was down here. I would have had to score it if I didn't already have one of his cues but at only about ten inches long it is a little short for my wingspan!

Based on everything you are asking for I would recommend Terry McFadden cues.
Terrific hitting, not too stiff, very well made, and you get a lot of cue.
His plain janes with rings at all positions run about $400 with one shaft.
Terry has been making cues for quite a while.
Influenced by Ernie Martinez when they were in the same shop at Terry's pool hall (now the famous Hank's Billiards).
Terry now lives in Phoenix.

I would recommend you my hand made broom stick cue. All materials are hand picked from the street. It's a 1/1 cue with unique design, unique handle, odd taper, awkward feeling but still stiff and solid. And yes your wife would never know that it's a cue, even me :D :D :D :D

he said not too stiff and not production. i'd go with a carolina or a BCM

I was going to suggest the new line of Viagra cues but they play a little on the stiff side.

They are a pretty blue color tho.

those are for old guys with either less than attractive wives or guys still trying to hang on to something their body is telling them they're too old for.

it's a little depressing to think that one day "Cpl. deep stroke", my lil guys name, will be just for show. i'm not looking forward to getting old.

maybe the worst part about getting old will be that time when i don't realize that i shouldn't be dressed like a young man anymore. you guys know what i'm talking about. i'll be wearing a hustling USA t shirt that's too baggy for me, tight pants and running shoes....lol

Like I said it is kinda hard to call Schon a Production cue, the quality that go's into them, the designs, and all the Ivory in my opinion places Schon some where between Custom and Production.

We can certainly agree to disagree.

Although Schone is a little nicer than the average production cue, the way i would say they are, is a HIGH END or LIMITED production company, on some stuff. they are nice, but if you make more than a handful the are by deffinition a production company. They have a MUCH higher standard of production though.

They are like the Porche of the cue world. Some people think of Porche, as being an Exotic car on par with Ferrari or Lambo. They make a couple models that are on par, but for the vast majority are a production car no nicer than the average high end production car. (AMG, M-series, Z06, shelby, etc.)

just my thoughts.
