I am sure there are active posters doing that currently.
You ain't just whistlin' Dixie.

What I don't understand is when I'm in the bleachers at a pro pool event (ALL) of the people are freindly, you can agree/disagree & everybody is civil. You take those same conversations to AZ & the civility is out the window. At the drop of a hat people call you an idiot or worse.
There are still alot of nice & knowledgeable folks here that I really appreciate but it's like walking thru a dark ally to get to them.
Getting an autograph from a player they bashed..... (WOW)This is very true. I am glad you brought that up because there are, indeed, some good pool peeps on this forum.
Many moons ago, a pool forum member wrote some very mean-spirited words about a pro player. The posts were written with the intent to be hurtful and mean-spirited. A few months later, I was at the Open and witnessed this same pool forum member standing in line to get an autograph of the person they wrote about on the pool forum.
To this day, I will never understand why it gives some folk pleasure to be mean-spirited and hurtful. Posting on a forum, hiding behind the monitor, allows some to feel superior, and they write things they would never say to a person's face. The world is full of all kinds, I guess, and this forum is no different. They say you can't pick your relatives, but you can pick your friends. Well, I guess we can pick what we read and not to read too.![]()
Her post is on point. What AZ needs is more people like Jenny and far less of people like Thaiger.A strange criticism from a person whose only post in the thread is such a negative one.
I agree with Ron Swanson's point on the perceived value of "pros" or "industry people" posting on the forum.
What's that old Groucho Marx quote? I don’t care to belong to any club that will have me as a member?
Any pro you would actually want here likely has neither the time nor the inclination to post. The ones that do show up are invariably trying to sell something and therefore contribute little more than spam or obfuscation. See: CJ Wiley.
I knew if I hung around here long enough I would hear you say something that I agreed with:grin:Her post is on point. What AZ needs is more people like Jenny and far less of people like Thaiger.

why the need to mention of playing 200 dollar sets? is that a lot? I don't think it is![]()

I would give you *more* red, but I have to spread it around again.
You continue to post anonymously (some believe under mutliple forum names) jumping in and out of threads with an effort to cause hurt and/or anger.
I never thought I'd say this, but thank goodness for Facebook. Many of the *regular* AzB-ers have emigrated to Facebook and enjoy a rich pool-related colloquy on a daily basis, just like we used to here on this forum. That emigration provides a playground for trolls, banned members posting, and multiple-identitied members on AzBilliards forum today.
I have nothing against Jam but I must say that Thaiger is great. A very funny dude!

I find this hilarious. I get a lot of criticism for saying things here. So many of them say I am negative...and it isn't negativity.
For instance, I heard of a forum member writing a biography and stated that I would be unlikely to read it because I don't like how that person posts and I don't like hero-worship biographies.
I said all of that without malice. Most of the people on here took it like children. Many even chastised me for writing something that wasn't in keeping with the supportive nature of the thread.
That is childish ridiculousness. If every thread is only posted to have agreement, we would have nothing here. Nobody could write a dissenting opinion.
I'm happy to see anyone leave who thinks that I am too harsh. If everybody wants to do the JB thing and move to facebook where they can block people, erase comments and only see praise, go for it. I'll stay here with the people who can argue and realize that having dissenting opinions is how one learns and grows.
You have to join the dots on that one, it's not difficult. The goodwill for a folk hero is unfathomable to me but there you go.
The real problem around here is the membership of azb does not reflect modern times. It is STILL trying to wring every last drop of nostalgia from an alleged golden age it can, whilst systematically failing to look to the future. Very sad.
Lack of new blood is the problem wih azb.
Oh, I thought it was because everybody was mad that I chased the girl away.

Onepocket.org has had numerous pros over the years and yet there's rarely a post by them nowadays. I've looked up some on here and it seems they just disappear as there's only so much they want to put out there. Heck, look at the Ask the Pro section.
All it took is someone disagreeing with you or Keith to bring the wrath, or even a bikini picture. Yet, you've never once apologized even when you knew were wrong. Is that what you mean about people behaving differently on here?
Like another mentioned, most just want freebies for nothing and the ones that do stick around have something to sell.
We have Barton going and ruining every freakin thread his touches with a million rambling posts, nobody can disagree with another without some baby calling them a hater, troll or naysayer, people like Thaiger and Champ making new aliases regularly, even Mr 3C had a duplicate. For that matter, many others do, too. People want their butts kissed, want to tell svb how to play, want to say what's wrong with pool and how it's dying, but don't do a damned thing to benefit pool.
CJ must love FB. I've taken a peak and all he does is repost the same crap there, just like he does here. The only difference is that so many more people haven't read his copy and pastes there before, so they fall for it.
See, i don't care what people think of me and I'll call them out on what they say in their posts. I'm also putting my money where my mouth is and trying to do something, instead of crying all over azb and getting in the way. There are many good people here. There are also many people that act like teenagers and form their little "i got your back" cliques, run to mommy when they read something they don't like and just generally act immature towards others.
Great to be back and seeing the yaytrollers and a few others clamoring for a cool-kids' playground once more. Whoop. Dee. Doo.
