Is it true that folks here in AZ land can argue about anything?
Just wondering.

Funniest post in the thread. Mystery cuebuilder says he can give Balabushka the 7 in cue construction. Since you build all your own stuff you must be in the HoF already. BTW there are at least 12 cuemakers I know building cues using almost the exact same principles that George did, do you think you build better then they do?
JV
I didn't say I would give hoim the 7 I said most all 2nd yr builders lol
I build my cues for me and friends no one else I make no money at it.
And yes I believe how I construct my cues is better than how he constructed his along with 70 percent of decent cue makers out there, the technology today along with material availabilty makes its very easy to make a much more structurally sound cue than back in the day.
Take offense if u like but, its the truth of the matter. The man had a nice looking cue style but as a actual cue builder he was no where near what gus was.
And as I said before how many times have builders been slamed on here for using pre made prongs????? A ton.
So yes I think if george was assembling cues today amung the rest of the cue building world he wouldn't have made a dent.
But as this is a opinion based thead and response I would not expect people to agree.
And do not care if u agree or not.

Well said...I have played with many modern cues. Lets see, Scruggs, Joss West, Black Boar, Richard Black, Southwest, Gus Szamboti, Palmer, Mottey, just to name some, and I still say a Bushka in a very well preserved condition is the best cue I have played with, along with everyone else around me that hit with them. I don't care what glue, cnc, or lathe you used to make it, you got stiff competition from 40 years ago...
I care less what front you or anyone else made, but you are arguing against a crap load of world champion players who stood in line (not collectors, collectors will stand in line all day for an investment), and was in many cases interviewed on their sincerity to the sport before being able to BUY (not be given) a Bushka.
It does not matter if George started with a tabacco stick made by Moses, his end result was World Champion, so deal with it......
And I don't care if you get the point or not.

I would like to know exactly and precisely what you mean. Materials? Tolerances? Adhesives/glues/epoxies? Workmanship?
I would like precise and exact point by point specifics about your construction compared and contrasted with Balabushka's construction. Then I would like to know, quantitatively and specifically why and how yours is better.
(Please note, comments about the old finish not being as nice and durable will probably not impress.)
Obviously you must have deconstructed a few of his cues for comparison, so those that know of cue construction will enjoy your dissertation and will not be put off in the slightest by highly technical discussion.
Note that I am not offended in the least regarding your claims. I merely wish to know more about your construction in the context in which you have presented it.
You can also look at it like the question - Would Mosconi dominate cue sports today like he did in the past. My answer is no, he would not dominate 90% of the events like he did back then but he still absolutely be a top top tier players. The depth of top tier players just keeps increasing in number. The same can be said about cue makers IMO.

Coring, Glue, construction, materials, tolerances all around construction by threading all aspects of the cue.
If you think im going to descried how I build my cueswow this place is off it hinges.
Sounds like bullshit to me. In fact it doesn't even look like you gave it a good try at bullshitting us.
Very good cue makers have not only described their construction but also posted detailed pics in the cue maker forum here. So I am hardly impressed with your feigned offense at the notion of describing your own cue construction.
You aren't 007, your cue construction isn't top secret. You haven't discovered the secrets of the universe, this is cue construction not cosmology...and even if it was something that important consider that even Stephen Hawking publishes.
At this point it looks very much like you are simply unable to answer.

....I have a bushka it was my fathers ive played with it don't care for it, it sits in a case, as a conversation piece.....
Also ive reviewed all of georges construction along with Xray pics that were available and have taken many many cues apart in order to figure out a solid construction method for my cues.

all and the finsh is more durable lol
and to say he would have built his own forearms is a joke or he didn't have the roomplease how much room you need for table saw.
You sound like you really know what you are up to. I know most builders that come to AZ, what name to you market your product as? Can we see some examples and pricing of your work please?
Thanks
Kevin
a builder who crushes bushka also in my opinon.
