If I were Charlie Williams, I'd focus on the task at hand --- bringing home the Mosconi Cup. I would not allow the fact that more than a few disapproved of my appointment to this post to distract me from my duties.

While Charlie may not be the best possible choice, he is a several-time member of a winning American Mosconi Cup team and the suggestion that he assumes his post without credentials is, to me, just a bit ridiculous.

If you plan to attend and support Team USA, you need to let this go. Any attendee who makes an issue of Charlie's captaincy during the event itself will, at least to a point, be compromising the chances of Team USA. It would be a shame if it came to that.
 
I understand the outrage at the selection of Team USA captain on this forum, having read so posts on topics pertaining to related subject matters here. I am disappointed, to be sure.

That said, when a system, much like this forum, demonizes any class of human beings for any reason, there is a risk. When you objectify humans, they become things. Unbridled hatred, hatred for not what may have occurred but for who a human being is, breeds hatred and thereafter becomes universal for the wrong reasons. I see it often on forums, bullies and testicle danglers ganging up one a person for hatred reasons. Sometimes the testicle danglers don't even *know* the person they are ripping apart.

I just want to throw that out there as food for thought. We are all members of God's human family.

If I attend I will hold up a big sign that says "GO EUROPE". :) :) aside from disliking Charlie Williams, the only 2 players with superb talent on the team are SVB and Archer. It's gonna be a slaughter. Europe is too strong this year. You wait and see. I can't wait to say "I told you so". Earl, Dennis and Cory should have also been on the team... Oh well.... Maybe next year.....

Dennis brought courage, spirit and life to the event! How the f*** did they not bring him back???? Points or not, it was amazing having him on the team! Now they have Charlie on? WTF?

You have many valid points and I commend you for a very intelligent and thoughtful post.

But... Charlie tried to RAPE one of our humans in our human family. That is far worse than talking s**t on a Internet forum.

LMAO @ people saying he will "lead" this year's Mosconi Cup Team to a victory. Everyone on the team plays better and knows more about the game than CW.

It was alleged to have happened...albiet more than once, but to state it as fact is inaccurate, at this point.

Here's the thing. I know Marissa wee bit, and I really know of Charlie from seeing him around. I wouldn't say Charlie is on my Birthday Cake list, whereas I would give Marissa a slice of my birthday cake. :p

With all that said, these are allegations. Nobody was convicted of attempted rape. Furthermore, when the topic was first brought to the attention of this open forum, it was long after that the alleged incident occurred.

We live in a society where we are judged innocent until proven guilty. I may not like our legal system, but that's how it works. Once somebody is convicted and in jail, well, then they're guilty until proven innocent.

I mean no disrespect to Marissa or Charlie with the above comments. I'm just stating it how I see it as it pertains to this particular topic at hand. :)

if that's sweet marrisa, we exchanged a number of pm's a few years ago and my impression of her was, she has major issues! and again my impression is based on pm's so take it for what it worth.
