If you could go back in time and watch just one player...

St Louie, Louie

With the perfect “mixture” running through his veins, nobody had a gear like Louie Roberts.

I honestly can't bring it down to just one game or match , however I'd LOVE to be in attendance to see Frank McGown play Steve Mizerak in straight pool that was on ABC's wide world of sports filmed live .
It was probably Steve's first big tournament and they exchanged safeties back and forth when Frank made one that would be next to impossible for Steve to make , as he stretched out to try the shot under the bright lights he fainted out cold !
I believe Frank won that game rather handily !
I'm sure they've played a rematch a time or two in the great beyond !

I would want to see Mosconi in his prime after I told him someone had officially ran 800 balls. He supposedly would have embarked on breaking that.

Greenleaf- he was such a dominant player when Pool was one of the biggest sports in the US. There’s hardly any footage of him- so I would like to see how he played up close in a match

Saw Harold W.play in Johnson City would have loved to see him matched up.Wimpy at everything but i would love to seen Eddie Taylor running racks in banks . Luckily i have seen Nick and played him or he would be on my list(beat Efren for the cash)

Probably

Worst
Hoppe
Mosconi

Tempted to say Welker Cochran Rags Fitzpatrick. Maybe a few others. Watching Hoppe play balkline on the old equipment with ivory balls would be interesting tho.

As far as 12 year old necroposts go, I'm totally OK with this one! I love it that so much of the old Accustats content is being released on YouTube. We now have more opportunities than ever to look into pool's past. The older the videos get, however, the less useful they become, because it becomes difficult to see nuances such as spin, speed, etc. It's not a time machine, but technology such as AI up-scaling can adjust historical video for use with modern resolutions. The results can be astonishing, and it's not even a massive undertaking these days. I'm sure the audience isn't huge, but I know I'd love to see what this technology can do with some of the oldest existing footage of the great players.

A good payball game on a tight snooker table with Buddy, Earl, Efren and Sigel all in their primes.
The don't remember these guys getting the money in the 'Pay ball' back in the day.

As I remember, Denny Searcy, Bob 'Big Bob' Ogburn, Jimmy Reid, Keith and Cole Dixon were the Big names in Pay ball.

Granted living the majority of my life in Montana which isn't a hot bed of activity for tough or world class players .
The more I learn about different players the more I'd like to watch play and meet if possible and in turn learn by watching and listening ( yes I think that a possibility ) so my list is endless in all honesty .
I'd add Mike Gulyassy to the mix not only because I enjoy playing with the pool cue he makes .
