If you had a chance to play a race to 21 games with Johnny Archer,

How would you play him? Would you want games on the wire and weight, or just weight? Race to 21 games for $3000.00. Would you let him break or flip for the break? Winner break, or loser break? Playing him in your favorite pool hall too! Nine ball is the game in the race to 21!!!!

Race to 21 I would need to get

20 on the wire
All the breaks
The last 4
Archer has to wear a blindfold
Archer has to use a broom handletoplay with
Under these condidtions I would friggin rob Archer easy.

...If it were me...the specific bet I'd make is that I bet he wont win...I'd play him race to 21 in 8 ball...BCA rules...dont care about who breaks, or games on the wire or weight or even shot clock...only stipulation that I care about is that I get to choose which table we play on...

and when he agrees....i'll tell him to meet me at the carom table...

I might give him the called 7 but that's it! I think he destroys me with the wild 7.

I'd try him with all the snaps & handspans. On any of my shots I can move the rock in any direction, the width of my hand as far as I can stretch it from thumb tip to pinky tip. Doesn't sound like much...but its an incredible hustle.;)

I'm not a big gambler, and wouldn't play anyone for 3000 (I don't even have that much right now). But I would play for 200, even. Not because I think I can win, but because I'd like to see how I do without any stipulations. If I get hammered 21-5 then it's back to the drawing board. If it ends 21-12 or 21-14 or better, then that's fairly encouraging imo.

Oh, and winner breaks.

That's all.

I would clean out the lint trap in my drier and make sure the table had lots on it.

I win!

I agree. Actually, I would get a can of Methyl-Ethyl Ketone (MEK -- an industrial solvent that dissolves most synthetic fabrics), and lightly dampen a cotton terry cloth with it. Before the match, I would make believe I'm "cleaning the table" with what looks like just a dampened cloth.

(For those that don't know, if you apply MEK to a synthetic fabric like Simonis cloth, the light presence of MEK will partially dissolve the fibers, breaking their continuity, and making the now-broken ends "ball up" like the end of a poodle's tail, or like little lint balls on a sweater. There will be literally hundreds of thousands of them.)

Then, watch the fun as Johnny picks the "lint" off *that* table! Mwah ha ha ha ha!

Oooooh, Mr. Technical.
Exactly whats wrong with my idea?

Nothing at all, Terry. Just an alternative, that's all. The funny thing will be that JA will be trying to pick what he thinks is lint, but it's "attached" to the cloth (rather than be sprinkled on it), and will take some effort. I can just hear his Jaw-Juh accent now, as he complains why in the heck there's these little balls on the table that are difficult to remove... :D

Oh wait. Damn. I almost missed an opportunity to razz ya (as Brian instructed me to do, whenever I can). Ok, here goes... "what's wrong with your idea? Only a Canuck would think that JA wouldn't catch on to the fact that actual lint was poured on the table." There, how's that? :p :D

Maybe you should throw a bucket of lint on the table as weight... Drive him completely mad
