If you have bad habits, what are they?

Yep, that one sucks! I tend to do the same thing. Yesterday in the tournament my opponent broke and scratched. I get one of those layouts that you can only dream of. I take ball in hand, bend over, almost pee my pants, rush the shot, and MISS! Sometimes I can be such a moron.:o
Thank you Neil, I knew, I wasn't the only one, who would do such a moronic thing.

seems like the time to do a little cue ball magic

When we get ball in hand it seems like a fine time to do a little cue ball magic and solve any problems on the table. "Let's see, I'll set up this easy shot and juice the cue ball mightily to break up that cluster and I'm home free!" Then I'm looking at another object ball I missed with ball in hand because the Diamond didn't go for me taking that kind of liberties. On top of that I of course broke up the one problem for the other player.

My main problem is keeping my head down all the way through a shot,, it doesnt happen often , but when I feel heavy pressure, I tend to lift my head right before the point of impact... :shakehead:

My worst habit is pushing the ball on close to the pocket shots. Next thing I know I pushing everything. Throws my whole game of until I regain my stroke.

A close second is controlling draw shots. Either to much or not enough. I'm dedicating the next month to work out these flaws during practice.

Sometimes I accidently fart when I bend over to shoot.

Is that because your loose or is it because you enjoy sharing your last meal with your opponent and other by standers?:shocked2:If it is because you have lost some muscle strength, they make a plug custom made to fit that may help you with your problem!!!!!!!:nanner::wink:

Have a nice day!!!!!!

A problem that I have identified. that I am currently working on is rushing my shooting process. When I speed things up beyond my normal tempo, my play suffers.

Hmm... I'll have to look into the plug.

I haven't had the problem diagnosed because they smell like roses to me anyway.

I smoke, drink, used to drug it up pretty good...wait, not those habits?

My worst habit; not playing at all and still think I can get there.

Manwon is totally right. I try and keep a song in my head, usually a slow and melodic one as one focal point (even sing it softly aloud to myself to keep from looking around at other tables and stats). My other focal point is very simply what I have to do on the table, I know what the objective is and the desired result, but in all reality, win, place, or show...... I'm there to PLAY POOL. Results are good for a stat sheet, not for the game. A friend told me a long time ago, "If your gonna play, play to win." I added to that "If your playing better now than the last time, you already won, so who gives a sh&# about anything else........ It's all in how you play and if you gave it your best."

Think about that...... Seems to take the pressure off quite a bit, AND the focus between the song in your head and the game at hand will let you naturally block out anything else going on around you so you can concentrate on the next shot.

Many people have a similar problem, and in most cases it is because they lose their focus thinking about the win or thinking about how they look if they lose, instead of thinking about how to win and staying focused on the table. When your shooting think of nothing else, except how you plan to close out the rack, if you are down on a shot and others things begin cloud your thought's stop and stand-up clear your mind think of your plan and execute.

In most cases the mistakes made are things that are corrected very simply. When we are not focused on the table we begin to miss shots that we would normally make with 90% accuracy or better. It seems that for some reason things are just not working and we can't put our finger on the problem. One of the first mistakes that occurs when your mind is clouded with other thought's is taking our eye's off the object ball. Most players know that a major part of making a shot is staying down on the shot, following through on the shot, and keeping your eye on the object ball until contact with cue ball.

Like I said in a previous post to one of threads keep your mind clear, and play you game on the table, and treat each shot the same no matter how hard or how easy.

Happens to all of us dr9ball..... That's what kills me the most. I can make some really hard shots and make it look pretty and easy, set up the next shot almost spot on where I wanted the cue ball, and then miss the next shot cause I rushed it, or worse.... make the next shot and loose control of the cue ball. Pisses me off every time.... LOL!!

A problem that I have identified. that I am currently working on is rushing my shooting process. When I speed things up beyond my normal tempo, my play suffers.
