If you were a well known cue maker...

First thing I would do is contact the cue builder.Simply let he or she know that I could not except the shaft. If the cue builder has a brain in his head he will fix the problem. If the builder does have a problem then you post a name with picture's.In return you get flamed by his friends on AZ.And then there's the rest they may or may not support you.

this is why I spell shi_ , . . um "stuff" out in painful detail in my posts!

Why should I share cost with the cuemaker?

Some people take offense because I put so much detail into my writing. This is exactly why I do.

I said "Cost sharing is between you and the cue builder."

What I meant is that the details of who pays for what are between you and the cue builder. Why should you share some of the costs? Simply because if you want this resolved you may not have an option. Who among us hasn't paid return shipping after we got the wrong product or a defective one at some point in time? It isn't what I consider fair but it is reality. If I am sitting on a $500 turd I can't use and I have to pay forty dollars to ship it back on my dime to recover my $500 dollars or get something I can use I do it. It's called not cutting off your nose to spite your face.

The cue builder has your money. You have his product. You aren't entitled to this shaft and a new one. Now what? If he refuses to pay for return shipping and you refuse to pay it too then you both stick your toes in right there and nothing happens. Your loss because you are stuck with a shaft you aren't happy with.

Groove in Shaft

That is probably acceptable in the ACA, but if he was in the Int Cue Hacks Assoc. he would go straight to hell for a move like that.

Why should I share cost with the cuemaker?

I paid for a brand new product. It is not my fault that the shaft was sent with a very noticeable groove around the insert. The shaft should have never left his shop.

In all of my years selling products to consumers, my first priority has always been to inspect the merchandise for any visual defects and imperfections.

You can keep complaining in each of your whole 6 posts, but bottom line is, yes, it shouldn't have left the shop that way, but it did.

Now is the time to figure out how to resolve it with the cuemaker, if you want it fixed.

Sounds like several people have made suggestions to help ya out.

It's an unfortunate situation, but things do happen sometimes.

Good luck.

You know the more I read this thread the more I have come to realize that you are not really interested in a resolution, as much as being heard.

Like I said before the problem is not really that big of a deal, next the guy said he would take care of it, last there is no reason for you to be here complaining about something that is not really an issue in the first place.

Other posters have tried to tell you the same thing however, you refuse to listen, so to save you further embarrassment I will do the following.

Send me your paypal account email and I will send you $20 for shipping just to end this nonsense, to me it is worth $20 even though I have nothing to do with your purchase. :)

First your opinion is your own and is noted.

Second, I am very much interested in a resolution and of course I wanted to be heard or I would not have started the thread in the first place.

Third, It is a very big deal to me. Maybe you do not care about the quality of the merchandise you purchase as new, but I do.

Forth, the whole problem IS in the way it is being taken care of. When I brought it to their attention I was informed they would send a new shaft out to me but their is a chance it may not be the exact same diameter. I didn't spend money on a damaged cue, I spent money for a NEW cue.

And last but not least, don't insult me by thinking it is a money issue. Money is not the real factor in this transaction. It's all about professionalism and the integrity of the cuemaker. The reason I have not stated the name of the cuemaker is I am still waiting for responses on emails.

im sorry but you mentioned price does not make a difference? thats the dumbest thing i have ever heard. price makes all the difference, it makes the world go round.

that's not really true or dumb thing to say. people pay high prices because they associate a name with quality.

scruggs sneakies are just as well built as his $2300 cues

cuemakers that take pride in their work don't put less effort in cues that don't cost as much (or at least in the cues i've seen that is)

You know you're gonna spill the beans and name him anyhow. How about you quit wasting out time and just do it already.

This is exactly what I am talking about, have you received the new shaft? Apparently not, so until you do and it doesn't fit or it is defective what purpose is being served by this thread, oh I know the answer None!!

I do apologize for my comments about sending you the money for shipping, being disrespectful was not my attention and you are right it certainly sounded condescending when I re-read it.

What is the f___ing point of this thread if you won't say the name...
You say that you want to be heard but its kind of useless without his name.

Its like walking a picket line with a blank sign, does no good to anyone.

Just say the name so people can learn from it, if the cuemaker stands by their work they shouldn't be ashamed or embarassed to claim what is there's.
Not trying to be a dick but just saying how it is
