How is your charity coming? Those looking for a hand out usually attempt to sue right out of the gate. But i guess that payday could be a few years out.

Donations are doing fine since you asked, but you could have checked that your self if you wanted to....right? By any chance, did you happen to look at my injures before the word "handout" came to mind? Do you even know who I'd be suing in the first place? I'll be having surgery shortly to repair the torn up meniscus in my right knee so i don't have to spend the rest of my life on crutches or in a wheel chair....but hey, at least then i can get a free handicapped parking permit...right! Tell me something will you since you think you know the intentions of everyone that ever gets hurt in a motorcycle accident....who in their right f#*%ing mind would go through what I'm currently dealing with....just to get a so called.....free handout? Yes, im suing the state for negligence, in the hopes that i get my motorcycle repaired, yes i had full coverage insurance, but you can read what inready posted about that....wait, you can read right? Then I'm hoping to get some of my out of pocket medical expenses reimbursed, some lost wages.....and if im lucky, i might even get a $1,000 for pain and suffering....so, hows that for a handout?

I am trying to understand what happened here. So you encountered some loose sand in a curve? On or off ramp or something like that?
I grew up near Chicago. As i recall (i havent had a motorcycle since 93, but im sure the bike world and environment hasnt changed) this and other hazards like this are extensively covered in the permit and licensing exams. Once you have some experience riding, avoiding sand and potholes etc well just come naturally to you. That is, if Darwinism doesnt get to you first. Until then, always try to stay in the center of the ramp (cant imagine why anyone would ride near the shoulder of the driving surface). Residual "snow sand" tends to gather on the outter edge. Usually inexperienced riders who are going too fast will find themselves on the outter diameter of a curve struggling to stay upright as well as on the road surface.
Accidents like this are extreemly common amoungst newbies and blap blap riders. Blap blaps are 1938 lawnmower technology, guys still build em from scratch in their shed. Things they dont do well.... accelerate, decelerate, and most of all, handle in curves.
I am going to bet all of this common knowledge applies to you Glen. I would also bet that lawyers (who are smarter than you), have instantly recognized that this is inattentive riding and therefore your own fault, so they either want a large retainer fee, or outright turn you down flat. Either way, BETTER CALL SAUL!
As for injuries. If only you made a good enuf living, you could have had some decent health insurrance and you wouldnt need to be asking those that do for a handout. But your in luck. If you hurry, you can still get those around you to pay for your ****up. I believe Obamacare is still up and running. While your there, they will give you a free phone! Better hurry. I hear the working types are tired of giving handouts and this will be ending very soon.
Anyway, i hope you heal up and get some employment that has health insurance, you are going to need it. As you get older things like this seem to come back to ya.
Keep us informed on your donation/lawsuit and of course your recovery. Were all rootin for ya buddy!

The fund drive was my idea and Glen was embarrassed that I did it. He has posted that he'll give everyone's donations back when he does work for them because he never asked for charity. There are dozens (many hundreds) of people waiting for him to work on their tables all around the country because their local table mechanics can't rise to the job. I don't understand your motivation here? In an earlier post in this thread, you wrote that you had a conversation with Glen. Were you asking him for FREE table advice like so many others do? I know he spends hours (unpaid hours) on the phone helping folks all over the Country. I'd love to know....Did Glen prove you to be an idiot, your feelings are still bruised and this is the only way you know how to get even?
RKC loves what he does and that type of work doesn't come with healthcare or 12 weeks of sick leave. This thread was meant for the people that have benefited from Glen's table knowledge.... not haters that have no clue what they are writing about.

The conversation i had with him was about him trying to impose his opinion upon me and his proclaiming his superiority over me and why my experience based opinions were wrong because they opposed his efforts.
Pool tables are very simple. I for one have no need of advise when it comes to such.
The thing i am enjoying about all of this is.... if my encounter with RKC had not been about his arrogant pushing his superiority onto me and trying to belittle me and my experiences, i would have naturally been sympathetic to his misfortune. Hell, i woulda donated!
Instead i am enjoying the fact that he is NOT who he has suckered all of you into believing he is. .
If he was sooo embarrassed, why did he NOT publically denounce your panhandleing efforts?
Fact is, he is NOT nearly as successful as he pushes out there. He is a conman overstating his social station.
In 1989 i had a table mechanic named Ted Menn the Pool Table Doctor come and work on an old United pay table. After seeing just how simple the work was, i never paid again. He hit a ball into a rail and declared my rails dead, and he just happened to have replacements on the truck. So i responded "tighten up the rail bolts and try it again". The subject of dead rails was never mentioned again. What a deciever!
Today i perform the same work (when needed) for folks i know and do it as a favor.
You know, motorcycles are a luxury. What kind of dumbass would spend money on one and yet has no health insurance? Keep in mind, we are talking about a motorcycle, a toy, a dangerous one at that!

You know how and can correct the rails on older Brunswicks?
How about the inconsistent pocket angles?
Repair the ends of chewed up rails?
You can design and build pool tables?
You have been asked by the manufacturers of the premier pool tables for your design input?

Fact is, he is NOT nearly as successful as he pushes out there. He is a conman overstating his social station.
and then you illustrate your point using a story about some other person's work not RKC's.

In 1989 i had a table mechanic named Ted Menn the Pool Table Doctor ......

Let me try and break this down in simpleton language so that you may have a chance to understand. March 28th at 11pm i was coming out of Toppenish Wa on west 1st street heading to Hwy 97 to go back home a mile down the hwy to my shop. There hadn't been any snow in 6 weeks, and since i live right along side the hwy i had seen the street sweepers clean the hwy, just as the week before, the city had cleaned their streets....BUT, no one had cleaned the on ramp from 1st st to the hwy, later found out. Now keep in mind, 45 yrs driving, I've never had an accident, and on THIS motorcycle i had already rode it over 22,000 miles in the last 12 months...OK. Now follow along with me now, it's dark, wet, raining slightly, speed on 1st street is 35mph, on ramp is just a slight right turn to get on the hwy....no speed restrictions on the on ramp, straight past the on ramp is an intersection with a traffic light, green for those on the hwy...OK, following with me so far? Now let me fill you in with a few details you don't seem to know about, and that you seem to be unaware of. On the on ramp, there is no painted white line on the right side of the black top to indicate the roads edge....and its DARK...OK? So now, when the road is wet, the LAST place you want to ride a motorcycle is in the center of the roadway uless you're a newbie, stupid, or begging for an accident because....what does wet pavement bring out on the blacktop....the OIL drippings from automobiles causing the CENTER line of the lane to be as slippery as ICE....OK? So that leaves riding in the left tire tracks on the roadway and on ramp as the safest part of the road...OK? Now, picture me riding, turning off 1st street entering the hwy on ramp, no lite up intersection, raining slightly, 11pm traveling at about 35mph....OK? Now, about half way througjh the on ramp rurn, judging where you're at based upon the WHITE line on the LEFT side of the on ramp which is also the indicator as to when you can safely merge onto the hwy. Now, as i look over my left shoulder i see there's an 18 wheeler coming down the hwy heading in the same direction I'll be traveling, but he's about a football field back, so once seeing the hwy is safe to merge onto, i just start to increase my speed and get ready to shife from 3rd into 4th gear.....all of a sudden, because my bike is leaning slightly to the right because afterall it is a right turn....my rear tire skidded out to the left of my bikes centerline....and started to fall to the right side, BUT....before it could fall over, as soon as i let off the gas, the rear tire caught traction and hopped to the right....passed my bikes centerline so far, the bike laid over on it's left side, trapping my left leg against the blacktop and the bike. Then in a split second the bike slid off my left leg, taking my left shoe and sock off because my foot was still under the shifter, in which once free from the bike i turned sideways, tucked my hands and arms in close to my chest, tried to get my legs straight and together, but not fast enougjh as my right foot got turned out to the right, twisting my right knee in the process before i could get my legs together and straight....so that i could roll like a hotdog until i stopped. During the process of bouncing and rolling i saw the 18 wheeler change lanes from the outside lane to the inside lane as to avoid any chance of running over me. Now, before i could get uo, the state patrol had 2 cars at the accident site as well as 2 more from Toppenish....and AFTER their investigation the state patrol determined the cauze of the accident was because of the loose sand and gravel that hadn't been cleaned off the on ramp....AND DID NOT ISSUE ME A CITATION FOR BEING AT FAULT FOR THE ACCIDENT....got that, all cleared up for you now?

Not successful? I would certainly argue with you the meaning of sucess there buddy, as i don't measure sucess by the dollars, i measure it by how happy i am doing what i love to do. Success? I have more freedom than most Americans should be allowed to have, i live free to roam this country where ever i want and wben ever i want. I have no credit card debt, no mortgage payments, no loans to pay off...and i OWN everything i have....can YOU say the same? Hell, i don't even wear a watch, i don't even care what time of the day it is, can you say the same thing? I haven't had a job punching a clock in 34 years, and yes, I've raised 6 kids, been married twice, divorced twice as well. Lived in Europe for 7 years too....can you say the same thing? What's successful to you i might nust consider a failier for myself. Let me tell you something buddy, success don't follow you to the grave and life is what you make of it, not what it makes of you. Hell, i even served my country for 9 years in the Army....can you say the same thing?

And just so you know, only a hack would be proud of working on a united coin op pool table, why do you think they went broke and out of business 30+ years ago....LOL THAT'S something to be proud of...:rotflmao1:

You skills of working on a United pool table don't impress me whatsoever, try your skills at taking a missmatched GC frame and make the surface level to within .0010 of an inch everywhere, here, I'll show you what i mean because you won't see this from another living being working on pool tables.

and you followed his advice saving you time and money, or if you hope your mechanic has watched RKC's DVD on how to install Simonis cloth before he sets up your table, or appreciate how Diamond changed from Red label tables to Blue label (taking RKC's advice), Now is the time to pay it back a little bit. The donation site I've set up is at http://myevent.com/RKC. Glen was in a motorcycle accident and will be piling up huge medical bills without insurance. MRIs, a knee operation coming up and he's unable to travel and thus earning a living is postponed. You can see the whole story and pictures in the other threads I've posted. Please give what you can and please help me by posting in this thread keeping it at the top until everyone sees it. Thanks in advance....

Bump? I think this thread has maxed out???
