Am I the only one who misses being able to smoke in a pool hall? I understand a lot of people don't care for smoke, but I enjoy my organic American Spirit rolling tobacco and when is the last time you saw a Indian die of lung cancer? For you PC out there, my mother is half Indian and half Mexican, so yes I can make fun of myself. Nothing like looking like a white boy and hearing the comments made about my heritage from other uneducated people. I'm feeling surly tonight. Look it up bozo, yeah you , look it up.

Be surly in the wrong places, and well...you surely needn't worry about lung cancer. :rotflmao:

Wish I could tell you the joke:

What does a white man do before he tells an Indian joke?

Unfortunately, you'd have to be sitting across from me to see.

So, what are we talking here. Spirit Blend. Willow leaves etc for the Prayer Pipe, other Special Blends or something that can only be bought at the Rez Store? I quit smoking a couple of years ago but cheat a bit. The Native stores in Saskatchewan get some decent strong smokes. Special Native blend. I also buy my cigars from Cigar Chief. Good stuff there.

I'm always into a little Sweet Grass Ceremony.

Hey, as an after thought. Can you get any Fire Crackers at the Rez Store? Send em to Canada. I will pay you dearly for some.

I think that you may be in need of some Hang Over Soup and Bannock tomorrow. Never had Hang Over Soup and Bannock, you say. Come up to Sask and I will introduce you to some.

If you were wondering, the one right before you posted? That was the one that was one too many.

Nope, don't miss it. Oh, the last Native American person to die of lung cancer....hmmmm, that would be my 41 y/o sister, my aunt, my grandmother, my 3 uncles, etc. Shall I continue.

Now for the non Native Americans in my family on my mothers side that would be my mother, my grandmother, my grandfather, my aunt, my uncle, my 43 y/o cousin.

So, yeah, smoke your brains out at home not sure why you need your fix at a pool hall, I go to shoot pool, not to showcase my addictions. You might want to look up the word addiction Bozo, yeah you, look it up.

It sounds like a bit of a con. The makers of American Spirit, Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company, is owned by R.J. Reynolds, the world’s second largest tobacco company (behind Philip Morris), which also owns Camel, Winston, Salem, Kool, Pall Mall, other cigarette brands. Santa Fe operates as a wholly owned, independent subsidiary of RJR.

There is a local tobacco grown in only a few mile radius. For whatever reason it isn't the same grown anywhere else. Spelling might be butchered but it is perque tobacco. Grown by the indians long before the white men came and white men came to south Louisiana long before they came to most places in the US. The indians processed the tobacco, fermenting it in hollow logs and I forget what all. Pretty sure the exact process is still secret. "Natural" tobacco does indeed sound like marketing.

I think the next time I spend a weekend in the pool hall where they allow smoking I will leave the great large green gobs of snot everywhere that being in smoke always causes, hell it is at least as natural as the smoke and I should have the same rights as the smokers!

Years ago I could have lived in a chimney. Then smoking bothered me. Now I am not only allergic to cigarette smoke, the follow-up is a nasty sinus infection. The question has became do I go enjoy a few hours in a pool room followed by being sick for a day and enjoying three more days of inflamed and raw feeling sinuses while making everyone around me enjoy the sounds of me expelling pounds of thick ropey green snot?

I'm sure many felt a little uncomfortable just reading this post. Think how I and everyone around me feels when they have to put up with the real thing for at least three days.

I'm all for choice, I just wish I had the choice to play in public in a nonsmoking environment. I know other people who don't go to pool halls just because of having to step through the door when they get home, strip, clothes straight to the washing machine, then head straight to the shower to wash the sticky stinky smoke out of hair and beards and off of their skin.

I know the pool room owners need league players to survive but does each league player really need two cigarettes at their seat, another in their hand, and a few more scattered about fuming away every place they have been? I'd swear that some league players have five cigarettes going at once. Surely they don't smoke like this all the time or they would be dead or too poor to do anything but smoke.

Your freedom is depriving me of mine!

Smoke from a campfire contains 40 times the amount of carcinogens, as first hand tobacco smoke. Look it up. People with wood stoves that never smoked, nor were ever around anyone smoking, died of lung cancer.

Prob why they don't allow camp fires in pool rooms either....

The only thing I miss about pool hall smoking is that immediately after they banned it, 75% of the pool rooms closed, especially those without bars. And a few years half of those remaining closed.

Come on down to Tennessee, we still have smoking in the poolrooms as long as everyone is 21 or over. And the best thing is you don't have to put up with a bunch of whiny 'we know what's best for you' people who want to tell you how to live your life.

BEST!!!! My guess would be best and most informative post of the year. Thank you Cracktherack, its nice to see people here with common sense.

I don't have any health problems, of course, I'm only 66 years old. Besides I would take health problems over someone telling me how to live my life. As long as I don't require you to be there I don't figure it's any of your business.

Who is telling you how to live your life...smoke your brains out in your own house or car, I don't give a rat's arse.

You don't smoke around us in a public place and I won't bring in materials containing radioactive materials... I mean, you folks would not whine about that, would ya ;)
