Tell me about that sweater? :)

If I had to be sitting on my couch watching all week it couldn't get any better than watching you in the finals of the bank pool. The wifey and I were pulling so damn hard for you, man. Good shooting and congrats!!

How do you cope with missing sleep?
Are you okay with getting naps here and there?

I'm interested 'cause I'm planning on attending next year.

I'll be the guy who runs 14 on you at banks.....and loses 3/2.

pt....doesn't finish well....:banghead:

Everyone but Alex seemed to have a problem banking on the TV table, even in the Bank Ring Game. Did you think there was something off about the table? I felt like you were struggling on that table, but you were your normal stellar banking self on the other tables.

You played well at the Derby, John. Congratulations. I have three questions:

1) What was it like playing such a close friend in the 9-ball banks final? I know that you and Shannon never met before in the Derby City final, but have the two of you ever yet in a tournament final?

2) Why weren't you in the bank pool ring game?

3) Why are safety play and multi rail kick disallowed once the ring game is down to two players? My opinion is that what makes the ring game fun is watching players going for shots they might not shoot in the 9-ball banks event. While defense is disallowed, the ring game is exciting. Once defense is allowed and multi-rail kick shots are eliminated, it's far less exciting.

Great watching your play at the Derby every year. Congrats on your finish this year.

What do you think of playing in the banks all the rounds with no shot clock, and then in the semis and finals being moved to a table under a shot clock?

Good question,I'm lucky I guess that I can run on 6 or 7hrs of sleep and yes I did take a few naps,oh and about 3 big cups of coffee as soon as my feet hit the floor and maybe one in the afternoon. I like my coffee also:p John B.

Yes I did Fred. I only got to hit a few balls on it,but it seemed to me that it was banking real short, which is way diff with the cloth being brand new. It normally banks real long. I just couldn't get it out of my hard head that the TV table with brand new cloth was coming up short. I still don't understand it.

My other excuse is all of the sudden you get up there and they have a completely diff cball (the measel)

I let it be known too, that pool is the only sport to where something like that happens. The cyclop cball but sucks but come on lets play with the same one for the whole tourney. I get mad just thinking about crap like that.:embarrassed2: John B.

Thanks. It kinda sucks playing a good friend but oh yes we have played in many finals over the years and I have done the same thing to him many times:D We made a saver so the $ was not that big of a deal.

I had a guy come up and ask me if I wanted him to put me in the ring game and I said hell yes. So he goes over there and tries to give the guy running it the $ and he wouldn't take it. Guess the guy just chooses who can play and who can't.

All of the years at the dcc and Tunica bank ring game you could play safe when it got down to 2. That's when me and the so and so running it had words.

In tunica it came down to me and Brandon Shuff in the finals of the bank ring game and I call safe and the _ _ _ _running it,says to me,you can't play safe in MY ring game. Here's what I told the _ _ _ _ It aint a ring game dumbass when it's down to 2! A ring game is more than 2..Dumb ass!!! Then he tells me I can't play in any more of HIS ring games. Greg S. told me that it was not HIS ring game but I guess it is.

Hope I cleared that up for alot of people. I got so tired of people asking me why I was not in the bank pool ring game. So there.... now its out in the open. John B.

Sucks big time!! In banks we should have more time than any other game down there!

In banks you have 6 pockets to choose from and endless shots to try and yet we have less time time than a game with one pocket.Makes a load of sense to me:embarrassed2: The sport or game of pool is not very smart I would dare say:embarrassed2:.Oh and thanks! John B.

When time is short, how do you warmup on a new, unfamiliar table at these big events?

I try to get out there and bang some around pretty often in between matches. It also helps that that my best bud just down the road a half mile has one in his house that we play on quite a bit and it plays diff than mine at my house.

The thing is at the dcc..the tables change every day with the cloth getting more wear and you just have to learn to keep adjusting daily really. John B.

I noticed that it was banking short also, watching from home. Is that a difference from Gold Crown to Diamond, or just that particular table? Maybe the nose of the rail is higher??

I was wondering if it was banking short, because Shannon hit a bunch of cross-side banks short in the ring game.
