The original argument was about getting good shape on the two. Getting good shape on a ball means that you have to be in a position to not only make the ball, but be able to get on the next ball from there as well. The exact area for the cueball to land and be considered in good position is somewhat subjective and is what you cannot agree on for a bet. Jay said he would bet based on getting out each rack instead. This eliminates the subjectiveness, and makes sense because if you are able to get out then obviously your shape on the two was good enough. You say that the whole rack adds to the difficulty, and this also makes sense because you might dog a straight in 10 ball that really had nothing to do with the original intention of the bet.JamieMcWhorter said:

If you get any half decent shape on the two it is almost a hanger so there is really no risk with having to make the two. But you can't stop the run at the two because then it would open the possibility of being able to miss your position on the two badly but still being able to make it with a bank or severe cut but with no position for the three. So running through the three ball proves that you had good enough shape on the two to make it and get good shape on the next ball, which is exactly what you are arguing about to begin with. It removes all subjectiveness, and it also eliminates misses further in the rack that would really have nothing to do with the spirit of the bet. Sounds fair and reasonable to me. Would you be willing to take the bet that way?

Or mark an area's boundary that is considered shape on the 2. Use the cue table diagram as your starting canvas and work with it - get a make-shift "mediator" agreed to by both parties to make it realistic and fair to both parties.
I don't see a fair effort towards a compromise being made. JMO.

Make a sincere effort to define "shape on the two" which WAS THE BET, or just flip a coin in a dark closet and be done with it.

Hey guys, this shot isn't going to happen, today, tomorrow or next year. Jamie and I hashed this out last year when he first brought up that he thought he could do it nine times out of ten. He was all pissed off because "his" player passed on the shot. What he said back then was pretty simple. He said and I quote "I can make this shot nine out of ten times and get good shape on the two ball". He then offered to bet anyone $10,000 on this. All I did was agree to take that bet. That's when things got sticky.
We talked about all possible variations for making the shot successfully, and decided all he had to do was make the one ball and get decent shape on the two. Pretty simple for a neutral observer to see if he was successful or not. I was willing to have a third party decide if he "made" the shot successfully.
Then he wanted me to come to Ohio to do it. I offered him his plane fare to come to California but he still refused. I KNOW Jamie will never attempt this shot, or take this bet. And he knows it too. For whatever reason his ego has been damaged and he must continue to talk about it incessantly. Thanks for trying guys, but it just ain't gonna happen.

No your just not smart...I don't think they cheated but what they did was morally wrong but i would have done it too in their situation they wanted 2 chances to get out and eliminate the best player in the world but if it wasnt orcullos last barrel the shot would have never been passed in a million years...that was the whole argument from the beginning...but thank god Mcminn beat banks jr...or i might be alittle hotter about what happened....
