Last night at my pool league match I found out that one of the local newspaper guys wants to do a article about pool, he picked our league team and picked me for the feature article.

I figure this will be a good chance to put pool into a positive spotlight and maybe get some more people playing pool. I said I would be happy to do it as long as it's a positive spin on the game and not about all the negative things that is commonly associated with it.

I post up a link to the article once it's done, it will probably be a least a couple of weeks until the interview though.

That's pretty freakin' cool :)

I bet a framed copy of the article would look nice in your man cave (provided you have one).
 
That's pretty cool. I had some of my cues featured in our local paper a few months back. Feels good! Enjoy it!

Well this is definitely an improvement =) Until now your picture was only in the Post Office..... Time for a new look if the newspaper publishes new pictures LOL

It has been my experience that reporters report and spin things the way they want. The truth is secondary. I am in a position where I have done several interviews with the common press and I am disappointed with their lack of accuracy. An example may be if you make any mention of gambling and pool. You have opened the door for half the article to be about gambling and pool regardless of what you said. I don't give interviews any more and I tell them why. They act so surprised but when I don't buy it they get mad. You read between the lines as to why. I hope your experience is better than mine. Really, for pools sake I hope the best of luck to you and to the rest of us.
