I haven't had this problem yet, but I have heard good things about Predator's customer service. At least you know your cue will be fixed right by the people that produced it.
 
This thread gets the stamp of stupidity. Who the hell cares what they name their cues? You're like the group that demanded that one line of cues stop making one model because it depicted a guy from the sopranos who was homosexual and got offed.

yea, i might have to say theres a bit of thin skin on this issue.

Not to be an a-hole, but treat this just like media -- if you dont like what you see/hear, dont look/listen, change the channel/station, or just turn the tv/radio off.
 
How could you find that offensive? Anthrax was not invented after the 9/11 events to kill Americans, it was a chemical that has been around on this planet for a very long time.

Getting upset at them using 'anthrax' for a cue name, when their whole line of cues is based on poisons is out of place, IMO.
Are you mad at the rock band Anthrax? Maybe they should've changed their name after those events.

Would you be mad if they had a break cue named 'the bomb', because bombs have been used to kill countless people, including Americans, what about a cue called 'the gun'.

Bottom line is Anthrax isn't a device created by 'The Terrorists' to kill Americans, it's a disease that's been around for a very long time - and it fits into their scheme of names of 'poisons'. No wrong doing on their part in my opinion.

As far as the cues themselves, I think they look foolish.
 
I don't find it offensive at all, it's just a plain stupid name for a cue! I think it beats out the Bud Light cue for stupidest marketing idea. Although I'm sure the BL cue has been successful, given the number of bangers/alcholoics who want a $9.99 cue!

I agree it is tacky in a not cool way. Like most people, I was also not offended, but it is kind of a stupid name for a cue. Just a cheap cue brand trying to have a name to catch people's attention. Seriously, would any of us contemplate buying one of these cues anyway?
 
Low deflection shafts, TIGER PRODUCTS, Predator, McDermott, Ob-1, Mezz WD 700.. they all have helped players in differnt ways.. it may be just one trouble shot, it may make the difference between running out and choking. these shafts have thier place, and like anything are subject to discussion.. some people like them some dont.

If they truely wanted to make a differance they need to lower the price, Predator cues imho have always been over priced, since the first cue. Now If you could buy a low deflection shaft for 125$ instead of nearly 200$ I think there would be less people complaining. Rightly so. I think...

Instead prices are going up, and popularity will go down. those loyal will likely stay loyal but first time buyers will go down. I think Predator realizes this in a way and though Im not lowering the price but hey, I have a big name, I'll just start a new line of cues instead of lowering the price of Predator brand equipment because im afraid If I did people would think less of my product.. If its expensive it must be good, right?


Just my opinion, Im thankful somone had the courage to go out on a limb and change the game for so many.. I just think the price is high considering how long the product has been on the market.. I personaly dont use any predator cues or products, but I have tried them and Im not disapoiinted other than the price.

I think not...sent back to the USA distributor and they send you a new one is more fathomable. ;)

have repaired plenty of these cues and I'm not the factory; just a lowly repairman and sometimes cuemaker.

most of the repairs are tenons and ferrules, but several have had the inner parts of the shaft come unglued from the fiberglass/graphite outer shell.

when you have the time, money and inclination, buy several brands of fiberglass type cues. cut them up and have a mirror handy to see your face when you discover what's actually inside most of them. :mad:

(and no, I ain't telling...discovery is one thing that's missing in a lot of people's lives) ;)
