Anyone know if they have weakened Red Bull in some way? I use to run around like I was on speed, now not so much. Johnnyt
I don't touch caffeine. It's hard for your heart, and you build up a tolerance, thus creating a vicious cycle. I've never had a cup of coffee in my life, and I'm never groggy during the morning or day.

According to wikipedia, Red Bull contains Taurine, Glucuronolactone, Caffeine, B vitamins, Sucrose and Glucose. The main stimulant is Caffiene, and it contains 80 mg/245 ml of caffeine, or the same as a 8 ounce cup of coffee.
Citing another wikipedia article, tolerance for caffeine builds up quickly for heavy coffee and energy drinkers.

We're 13 posts in and no one has complained that this should be in the NPR forum. That just shows how well-liked you are around here Johnny![]()
Well I was going to use it to go after high runs (4 me) in 14.1. Johnnyt
Hahahaha and so it all ties in. Gotta love it.
In all seriousness though, my best advice to you is to kick the energy drinks. Taurine is bad stuff for your heart. My wife is a nurse and her mom is a surgical technician, so I tend to believe what they tell me about this kinda stuff.

Johnny,
People build a tolerance to caffeine - that's scientifically proven. So, drinking coffee all day and then having a Red Bull, it's not going to have the big effect.
I can't play with too much of that stuff in me. I'm avoiding excess caffeine if I can help it - hurts my game if I get too pumped up on it. My grip gets shaky, my head feels too light, I get jittery.
