Initial team usa squad is named for mosconi cup xxv

I totally agree with you and think they would make a great doubles team. Maybe at large could give us their records if indeed they have played doubles in the cups.

Van Boening and Strickland have been on the Cup team together 3 times -- 2007, 2008, and 2013. But they were paired in doubles for only two matches:

2007 -- lost 0-6 vs. Peach and Souquet

2013 -- won 6-5 vs. Appleton and Immonen

Well.they batted .500. Thanks

As mentioned, many big names seem to be missing (Shane, Dechaine, ...). And thinking of any 5 from this list taking on Appleton, Shaw, Filler, Ouschan, and Feijen (Chinakhov, Van den Berg) does not fill me with confidence. However, viewing the last 10 results, it should be obvious that some shake-up needed to happen. Maybe this will do it.

What would SVB make if he wins the Ballpark Village tourney the week before the MC?I would think he would make as much or more money in tourneys than he would by participating in the MC.

What about this team..??

Given the list of players, am I wrong to think Jeremy would have the most success with this team? I think they would work well together. They are all friendly and laid back like on the surface like Jeremy but have that edge and killer instinct. And they all kind of came up under JJ. And I especially think Justin, Donny and Josh would be hungrier than anyone else on the list to prove something about their pool abilities, no offense to the rest of the list. Drop Ruijsink and let Jeremy do his thing with these guys...

3. Skyler Woodward (3)

6. Billy Thorpe (1)

8. Justin Hall (1)
9. Donny Mills
10. Josh Roberts

Are you saying the previous pros lacked killer instinct ?

No offense to donny but didn't he just get beat by a girl ?

Nope, that's not what I said. If you read my post I am making the point that given the list of players I think Jeremy and the 5 guys I listed would work well together regardless of how many of them have been beaten by girls or played poorly here or there, etc.
Some how you turned it around in a negative way.

If these are the only candidates for Team USA, I'd be fine with Woodward, Thorpe, Mills and Roberts, but Justin Bergman, who contended for the all-around at Derby City, would be a much better choice than Justin Hall.

You're definitely on the right track here.

Well truthfully its hard to.ne positive given what has been posted in several threads regarding this subject.

No disrespect to Jeremy but I ask...what can be do that has not already been tried ? Admittedly the list is not finalized but several top players are missing so its hard to stay positive about that also.

Every one seems to be against this boot camp idea but I say drastic times call for drastic measures. Every one claims our top players are just as good as the Europeans and to some extent I agree but apparently they are not as good in the mosconi format. From what I have read one of the boot camps is actually an European tournament where our players will have a chance to win money. At least one boot camp will be against top European players in a mosconi style match. I believe both of those boot camps would be a positive experience for our players and while those boot camps may not suddenly turn our players into winners the experience definitely would not hurt our chances. However it seems some players .....and most members of this forum disagree with my opinion.

With that said.....what's so positive about kicking a well known coach who has a proven track record aside and let a player ...not a coach take 5 lesser caliber pros and make a winning team ? What would Jeremy say or do that has not been tried by any other American captain ?

Yes, he lost to a girl, but she's a great player capable of beating the biggest stars in the game.

FYI, at the 2018 Derby City 9-ball event, Donny Mills was the only player that managed to beat eventual champion Chris Melling.

The difference is - stones in your pants, or stones in your head - big difference!

If I remember right, he also finished top 5 the year, or 2 years before that. I had him at like 40 to 1 to win it, that was a sweet sweat for $50 to win 2k.
Jason<------almost got there lol
