Any suggested videos on banking for a low level C player. Would prefer if the vid is on a 9ft diamond. Just basic banking for the most part.

Theres Probably a reason why theres no banking video using diamond tables

There's one coming out soon from Tor Lowry and zero x....

as a bonus, P.K.F. introduces Tor's BRAND NEW kicking system from an upcoming video release we've not even told you about, called 'Kicking on a Diamond!' This will be exciting for all the league and tournament players who've urged Tor to create a kicking system specifically for the Professional Blue Series Diamond Pool Tables! And that reason would be? Its clear your wrong because like what was just posted, there is banking videos coming out on a Diamond;)

Whatever the reason may have been i wouldn't have knowm or i would have proposed it

But a video is just now coming out yes weve seem tor promoting it

But still none exist today, why ?
Im just as curious as you

You know...you are obviously the resident asshole around here. Can you even play pool dude?

Nope, he's not even close..... you, on the other hand, are working your way to the top.

tick-tock, tick-tock.

As stated in an earlier reply, Tor Lowry's videos on kicking/banking are an excellent start. I think they are priced at $39.95, but very much worth the money.

Once you get good at those, take the graduate course - which would be Freddy the Beard. He is very in-depth and shows a lot of stuff you won't find elsewhere.

Dr. Dave's videos have quite a bit of information on kicking and banking as well. Worth checking out.

Good luck to you.

While i agree that the red label Diamonds had banking short problems and springy cushions, i don't dwell on their past rail designs, the blue labels play much better, and just like any pool tables out there, the wear on the cloth can effect the cushion speed as well as the banks, be it a Diamond or Brunswick, and humidity effects both the same as well. The single biggest reason the play of tables can vary so much from table to table has everything to do with cleaning them....and KEEPING them clean, good luck with that in most of the pool rooms in this country! As fas as banking videos being the bible of banks, even they have to show how to test banks and adjust as needed to what ever table is being played on. Even billiards tables vary from table to table as conditions change, players have to learn how to adapt, can't adapt... can't win, but you can always blame your loss on the table.... rather than admit you don't bank as well as you THINK you do....LMAO

And he will be coming out with his banking on a diamond video soon.

This. You can buy all of his current vids as a download for $30 on his site. Totally worth it.

The new vid coming out sounds cool too.

I have a GC III at home. Rails extended by John Burns to 4 1/4 but cut a little on the loose side for 9 ball. I've played Bank Pool for 40+ years. I have Artemis rubber rails.
Should the Artemis rubber bank any different then the Brunswick super speed
rubber? Hard to compare to local pool rooms, even though John does the tables
around here for the reasons you mentioned , They don't take care of the tables.
Thanks

A lot of great suggestions here. I'd just like add....table size doesn't matter if you're using the diamonds/markers to figure out or sight the proper banking angle. And the only critical difference between banking on a Diamond table and just about any other table is this: Diamond tables tend to bank short, meaning if you line up a dead bank to the corner it will typically miss the pocket by a good inch or more. Most other tables don't do this. They provide a more truer bank.

Banking on a Diamond table usually requires a touch of outside spin on the CB (not much....about a quarter of a tip is plenty), and it'll put the OB on a good line to the pocket. Knowing this, any video on banking would be good for your game, especially those mentioned here, like Banking with the Beard or Tor Lowry's material. Great stuff!

I have zero first hand knowledge, but rumor has it the cobra played pretty sporty at one time.

With his schedule, I wouldn't think he plays much these days.

Dale(who has years of experience of not playing much)

Someone really should clean that dirty shop. Oh and beware of table mechanics that build you a perfect playing table then run the table against you on the very first game played on it...lmao!

RKC did an unbelievable job on this table and I smile every time I see it. I have a friend with a Fargo rating near 700 and he says he hasn't played on anything better.

Thanks Glen,

Every table in every room in every state will bank different based on how old the cloth is, how the rails are, how the temperature is, how clean or dirty the balls are, etc...

Learn the basics of banks (any video), then learn how to adjust for conditions by varying bank speed, spin and angle adjustment. A low C player needs to learn to play first rather than learn how to bank based on equipment IMHO.

I agree here, I have read plenty of confrontational posts from RKC (I think he was even banned at one time, or two times LOL) but he is not on my ignore list, our friend 8ballfanatic is, and was put there after maybe 5 posts LOL

Something funny about Diamond banking, our pool room had new rails put in, tables are just Brunswick furniture type. They are re-doing the cloth again and I looked at the rails they used, Diamond brand rails. So the question is, will Diamond rails bank the same way on a different table?

Wbat you need to understand is that the Superspeed and Artemis cushions are designed differently, therefore they're going to have a little different playing characteristics meaning they're not going to play exactly the same. The Artemis K55 cushions have a more rounded nose which means they're going to increase the friction contact of the balls, in such a way that the cue ball for example can spin off the cushions at a slightly greater angle than it does with the superspeed cushions. In the same respect, trying to shorten up a bank is going to have more effect on the artemis as well, yet transfer of spin to lengthen a bank will also provide better results on the artemis cushions too. But i feel that to truly understand the banking ability of any table, the player must first understand all the extenuating constance's that effect how a table banks. Loose rail bolts, thick or thin, or loose rail cloth, worn rail cloth, dirtly rail cloth, dead cushions, improperly installed cushions, cushions unglued. New bed cloth, worn bed cloth, type of cloth....the list goes on and on. What i see a lot of and hear a lot of, is players complaining about how a pool table don't bank according to the 3C banking diagrams! Well, i hate to be the one that gives out the bad news, but someone has to, most 3C tables don't bank according to the 3C banking diagrams drawn on a piece of paper either! Maybe in a perfect world, where the tables are kept in perfect condition at all times....MAYBE then they'll ALL play perfect, but down here on earth, you NEED to learn how to adjust you banks no matter what table you're playing on and stop fooling ones self into believing that you're a perfect bank pool player and when you miss a bank....its the tables fault!
