AWESOME example of Burt's early/mid work. Ebony Titlist blank?
Can't believe anyone ever used that pin though...
Burt usually did take a different path on joint configs.
 
That is truly incredible. But why would that be a Titlist blank? Did Burton use Titlist blanks - that sounds eerie to me. Perhaps I am badly mistaken but I don't think he used Titlist blanks.

Re BTW: of course I like this one but I don't have money anywhere near low 5k... but if you'd just share the pics of that wrapless too...


This is a great cue from a cuemaker whose work is very rare to come up for sale. Best of luck with the sale!!!
 
That must be a very early example, because it's rare to find a Spain with the screw in the butt...most of his had the screw in the shaft right?
 
Nice Spain! That pin is strange. It's the same kind of set up that John Robinson used to use (or maybe still does)...

That is not a Titlist blank, the Veneer colors are all wrong. The pin is very common for cues Burton made in the 1970's, during that time he did experiment with many different joint and pin styles.
