Interesting cue on Ebay

reminds me of a...
Gondola.
Gondola cues were sold in the Base exchange overseas when I was In the Azores in the late 80's (Islands off of Portugal) They had a Ramin wood shaft with cheap ferrules with the screw in tips. I had a cue from them that had a similar butt sleeve but the spots were solid black; the forearm had an orange and blue butterfly pattern/print on it. (we all have to start somewhere...)
The Gondola looked more like a copy or a cheaper version of this cue's brand or a brand like it (this one seems to be older and has nicer rings) as the joint rings were brass with black sandwich. I steered away from the carved ones. I was not a big fan of the cue I had either, but you took what you could get on the "island." THe carvings on the cue pictured are slightly more detailed than what was in the BX also.
FWIW I saw 3, 4, and 5 piece cues by them; some carved some wrapped with dual color nylon (in stripes). All were with the weight washers and same shafts with brass joints. I recall them being around 20 to 40 dollars at the time.
I find the post on Ebay amusing. I could be totally wrong though.

i thought ebay wasnt allowing the sale of ivory?
you see those cues at yard sales , flea markets and such
there musta been millions of them
i cant recall ever seeing a brand name on them

As others have said, JUNK. I don't think they are even hand carved they are pressed like those cheap Chinese boxes to look carved. The wood is soft and the reliefs are pressed in. Recently I through out a bunch of stuff like that I had in my garage. I don't even remember where they came from.
Can you believe the guy has actually had 2 offers on the cue he turned down.
