Is this a serious question? I haven’t bought a DVD in at least seven years.
Barry Hearn knows what to do. Look at the prize funds for world snooker and
PDC darts. Why can they do it without charging some kind of PPV rate like
it’s the heavyweight championship of the world?! The coverage is on their
version of ESPN (sky sports) and FS1 (ITV4). Think about that. Setting your
DVR to watch pool because you already pay for a sports package.... or get
ripped off while supporting a lost cause. Are you pretending that this works??
Hey, guess what? Barry Hearn don't put up a DIME to support Snooker, you're smoking some good shit if you think he does. Barry Hearn is all about making a profit off events like pool, darts, boxing, or anything else he can promote to make a dollar.
Here's who REALLY puts up the money for the world Snooker championships!!!

Betfred
Betfred*is a UK-based*bookmaker, named after its co-founders Fred and Peter Done. It was first established as a single shop in Ordsall, Salford, in 1967. Its turnover in 2004 was more than £3.5 billion, having risen from £550 million in 2003. As of February 2016, the company has 1,370 betting shops.
Its head office is in Birchwood, Warrington. The CEO is John Haddock, who started with the company as a regional manager. Mark Stebbings is the MD of the Retail and Pool Division and Rakesh Chablani MD of the Digital Division.
Fred Done was the first ever bookmaker to pay out early (i.e. before the result was guaranteed), when in March 1998 it paid out to gamblers who had bet that Manchester United would win the Premier League, only for Arsenal to pip United by one point. Betfred also paid out early on Manchester United to win the 2011–12 Premier League title, only for Manchester City to beat them on goal difference.
