International pool cue experiment

is coming to an end soon. Many of you have responded to my offer of a $300 cue that I believe will improve your game because it was not only designed with ideas I picked up over 50 years of playing and conversations in private with the greatest cue makers the game has ever known but also after the CLEANESS OF THEORY MET THE MESS OF REALITY. My first few cues exceeded my expectations. I had a cue that enabled me to play a whole lot better. At first I invited others to test hit it, and after about 25 favorable replies I assumed it was the cue and not just me. But I decided to test the cue with total strangers in order to get their responses. The first two sold out and will be in the hands of buyers by Monday. Another group will be recieving cues within 2 months.

WHY,you might ask am I doing this? You do the math I had an engineer in Dallas who happens to be a "pool nut" spend hours making these PROTOTYPES at a cost that makes little or no profit, so therefore what was the motivation?

Our plan is very simple, FIRST, I PROVE to you that we can make a cue that plays better. SECOND, we are already preparing to make what will be the best cue ever ( AT LEAST IN OUR OPINION) and they won't be cheap. We plan to make 30 cues a year of the finest materials and design available. The cues will be initially sent with at least 4 different shafts of different tapers, ferrules, and tips for the new owners to try. When he has chosen which ones HE likes, we then provide him with new shafts that meet his specifications so that he has a cue that is truly customized .

The cues will start around $1500 for full spice with colors, fully AMERICAN made, and with a quality much better than any blanks we have seen.
Our traditional cue will feature only sharp points, sharp inlays, mitred veneers, traditional designs and some very innovative theme cues with hand scrimshaw work.

Some of you seem to think that the little $300 cues will become collectibles because of all the excitement and all. If so, that would be a hoot.

I am going to accept new orders on a few more $300 cues (ONE TO A CUSTOMER). You still send no money until the cues are ready. It might be 3 months. No more prototypes will be available after January 15.

These first few are made to test the hit. The quality of finish, detail, and shaftwood is not the same or should you expect it to be as what you expect in a custom cue like we will be making soon.

Deano Number 1 will be going to the famous Glen Family collection in Houston (they already have 2 of the prototypes), and if any one else wants to stick his neck out and order a "PIG IN A POKE" I will take orders on Deano custom cue numbers 2 through 5.

It has been a pleasure talking with those of you who called and responded to the threads. I look forward to responses .

You can expect pictures of our first custom cues in February.

FOR 300 I'LL GIVE ONE A SHOT.

Are there pictures of these to be seen? Can we specify preferred weight? If so, I'm likely in to try one as well.

Good luck with the new cues!

But there is something that I do not understand.... (and with no disrespect!)
How do "sharp points, sharp inlays, mitred veneers, traditional designs and some very innovative theme cues with hand scrimshaw work" will make the cue play any better?

This kind of reminds me of cartmans marketing of "you cant come in!" with his themepark that he owned to get people to want to come in. Heres a cue with no rep noone using it for 300 bucks and everyone wants one.. no pics or anything.

Brilliant :D Hell even I almost want one aha

It's fun to take a risk once in a while. Some people make a comfy living doing it.

If I had $300 under my mattress I'd do it lol.

When I miss a ball, it's always my fault and I know exactly what I've done wrong. I can't see, how a new cue will change that?

When it's "fully AMERICAN made", how is it international?

At $300, I'll take one too.

12.75mm, 18.5oz to 19oz max, forward balance at 19", wrapless, 3/8x10 or 5/16x14.

Now, it becomes International. ;)

In the previous thread, I ordered one via PM....

Just to clear up a few things
1)The cue must be ordered on phone, the requst on the public forum are not considered orders until I fully explain the details on the phone.
2)the cue is American made, the sales International.

3)$300 is for the proto type cue, like the one I am playing now!

4) phone 214 477 7323 DEAN

5)The custom cues that will soon be available featuring sharp points, mitred veneers, sharp inlays and all of the things that owners of fine cues expect will not play differently than the original cues, they will have the same playing chacteristics that we are making available to the public for a one time test offer of $300.

Actually we may have to discontinue this offer before January 15 because of the great demand.if you have not spoken to me you do not have an order and you will not get this one time opportunity. After this is over our lowest priced cue will sell at $1500 for a wrapless full splice with veneers, sharp points , and only a very few of these will be offered. We will pay no one to play our cues and even if you win the Derby City Classic you will pay the same as everybody else and wait your turn in line.

Thank you for your tremendous response,

DEAN
