invisible members????

I know privacy is a big thing like it should be, but I do NOT see why someone should be able to be "invisible" when they're on here. It makes it REALLY difficult for their "friends" to talk to them anytime they're online. I, for one, find THAT option to be utterly pointless and VERY frustrating! For those of you who use the invisible option, WHAT could you possibly be hiding from?? If you don't want to talk to someone, just don't come on or don't add them to your friends...or just delete them from YOUR friends. That will solve the problem! Personally, I feel that the ONLY ones who should be able to use the invisible option, would be celebrities and other famous people that obviously have people bugging them for anything they can get from them. I just feel this option is NOT useful for the common person, and since I love to debate with others, I opened my mouth about it....And I'm not even mentioning the other sites I visit where this option is used also. I'm SURE there are others who agree with me but lack the courage to speak up about it, so I'll take the initiative and do it. Feel free to debate with me about this, but this IS my opinion which I'm entitled to, and you can't change that!

This post reminds me of something I heard about Michael Savage, that jerk on the radio...

Turns out his real name isn't Savage but Weiner ( http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Michael_Savage ), and it's not pronounced "weener" as in "hot dog" but "whiner" as in, well, someone who whines...

Imagine having the name of Michael Whiner lambasting people and shouting with that Whiner last name...

This post sounds like something Michael Savage, er... Michael Whiner would say.

I think that is the most ridiculous complaint I've ever heard on here. I didn't even know there was an invisible mode and wouldn't have used it if I had; but it is certainly no skin off my nose if somebody else does.

Tap Tap Taperoo :)

Skulls are smashed and bones are bending
Joints are popping, our claws are rending
Groveling, sniveling, driveling horde
To worship scaly overlord
Apocalypse becomes creation
Gor-Gor shall erase the nation

I nominate this post for the most bizarre of the year.

Way to go, Walter!!!! :D

You Jeff. These people are hiding from you. You are a tool. An annoying, witless, bothersome tool.

You are right. You are entitled to your opinion, just like I am entitled to mine. So here's my opinion... this thread, like every other one you have ever started in your time here on AZ (under your numerous screen-names), has wasted minutes of my life that I will never get back. I can only blame myself for that.

I don't know what to say. I guess its like a guilty pleasure. Its sort of like when you drive past a car accident and you slow down and stare, kinda knowing that if you look hard enough, you might see a twisted, bloodied, and burned mess of a corpse. You don't want to see it. It might permanently damage you if you do. But still, you can't help but look. That's how I feel about your threads Jeff. The idiocy that lies within is eerily reminiscent of such happless bastards as travis trotter and Dr. Cue's Protege.

Your input is, dare I say it, pointless. Your threads and posts are ridiulous. From the 'I love this DZ cue and I'll never sell it!!!' threads to the 'I'm selling my prized possession (same cue)' threads two weeks later, right down to this very thread about something that should have no affect on you whatsoever and yet seems to cause quite an emotional uproar within.

Honestly Jeff, sometimes I don't know whether to love you or hate. I think I'll go with hate.

I'm sorry. I no good read. What you saying and how do you feeling:eek: :D :D  ?!

Okay, I'm one of the invisible people so I will explain the simple reason why I do so - I don't like the idea that people can find where I am in the forum. I find it intrusive. That's all.

Gosh, darn, Wally ! I'm confused.

If people are invisible, how does Dukeboy know there are even here ? Is he wearing the tin-foil hat or is his paranoid delusions manifesting into the spectral void once occupied by a brain.

Guilty as Charged!

Yeah...I am one of those who happens to run in Invisible Mode. It's been that way for quite some time now. I cannot even remember why/who prompted me to go that route, but there must have been a reason for it. Up until now, I have never heard of anyone complaining about someone being Invisible...and don't get what the big deal is anyway...it does not affect anything. If I happen to be online when someone PM's me, then I respond...no biggie. Why does someone NEED to see if someone is actually on in order to PM or post? Just do not get this.

Lisa <====just call me Claudia Raines.

it's a fair question that deserves a response...

Boo!

hahahahahhahahah you should have seen the look on your face! :D

I turned on invisible mode once a long time ago and never bothered to turn it off. Why?

Well, I work at home and do things that require computer processing time and I usually keep AZB up while I'm doing other things and switch to it to check for a few minutes frequently throughout the day. But I DO NOT have time to converse, chat or do anything that requires real time. So it's just easier if I'm invisible instead of ignoring people when they try to ping me.

I split my computer time between photo editing, writing and computer programming and they all require intense concentration to be efficient at. Interruptions when I'm working cost me much, much more than the three minutes they take. I have to get back into the proper mental framework and that can take 15-30 minutes or more each time I'm interrupted. Sometimes when I'm writing I get so shocked out of my train of thought that I can't quite recapture where I was going.

4 or 5 unplanned interruptions and I lose a whole day and then I end up working all night :(

At the moment I'm burning DVDs which I why I'm fooling around waiting for them to finish up.
