I just wanted everyone to know forum member Inzombiac, who is currently serving this country, got his free Varney cue today. I just put together a little hustler made from some scraps laying around here.:D ;)
He picked the cue up today and while its nothing fancy, he thinks its the most beautiful thing he's ever seen. He's about to have a stroke wanting to leave his shift and go to the poolroom.
Thank you to all who thought as I did...he was deserving of a free cue. Now he doesn't have to play off the wall anymore. Enjoy your new cue my friend...and thank you for serving the USA!!!:)

This just points out what everyone in my area already knows. Kevin Varney is a stand up guy. He's done more for pool in this area than anyone. I know of multiple instances where he's picked out a deserving league member who couldn't afford a cue, and quietly gave them a new Varney. This is why it makes me boil to see him get a bad rap from a limited handful of people on this board. The creme always rises to the top! My hat is off to you Kevin, nice job! Tap, tap, tap.

What a very nice gesture on the part of Varney Cues. Good things happen to good people, and I hope you get paid back 10-fold. I like hearing about this kind of stuff! :p

My nephew just got out of Army boot camp, is currently stationed at Fort Hood, and we just received word that he will be going to Iraq this September.

It is nice to see the pool community take care of one of our own in this manner. I salute you, Varney Cues, and may God bless our armed forces.

I was stationed there from Jan96-Jan99 (when not deployed) to Aco 2/7 Cav.
