Is eBay selling an Adam cue, a forgery, or a no-name cue? Is seller clueless?

I have a cue from the mid 70’s early 80’s that I believe is a Adam, there is absolutely no markings, signatures. It is the old mother pearl joint rings and little round pearl dots in the handle. I had Muller Billiards in Lincoln, Ne refinish it, new wrap and added a joint extension. The gentleman said it was a Adam.

I bet it's real nice, Post a pic or two!

And one of the many things I can cross off my list of "not known" is the fact that not only did Adam make joints with a metal screw on the shaft, the threads are way, way down in the butt. I wonder why so far down..

There have been some theories on that, and one patent that I am aware of.

The notion was that it controlled or "tuned" the vibration of the cue. I think. Maybe.

Wethered patented it. His patents are online, you can go read them if you are insane like me.

One of his cues sold a couple weeks ago for dirt cheap on Ebay. I meant to grab it but got busy with work and forgot about it.

Fellow on Ebay auctioning cue with Adam-lion logo described only as "2 vintage pool cue stick set". Is this an Adam cue? Bid now at $63 shipped and includes a second not-Adam cue. Auction ends Wednesday morning.

eBay provides A.I.-generated words for posts. These cues are "a must-have for any billiards enthusiast".

The cue on the Left is an Adam. The cue on the Right is a POS / junk cue.

With the screw on the shaft? I never noticed that on an Adam.
Never noticed is the key.

I think a lot of people see something like that and go right by it not even curious about it, often thinking it's just another cheap cue. No harm, no foul.

The lower end of Adam's cues were an interesting menagerie with a lot of features, designs, and materials that were very funky. Though not valuable, I do think they were very interesting. They served a market and are part of cue history from a very prominent manufacturer.

If by not 'much value' you mean less than $125? You are correct. I am guessing these two cues will sell for close to $125 because enough buyers recognize one of them as an Adam cue. Without that identification? Closer to $60. Stay tuned for auction end Wednesday.
Please do NOT update.

We don't share your enthusiasm about shit cues you are never going to own.

Some people like it deep in the butt?

The carom cues did not have metal pins, so I wouldn't use this as a determinant in the matter
Actually some carom cues did and do have metal pins, either in the butt or in the shaft. Ans there are some pool cues with wood pins.

There are always exceptions to such things I guess....
