Is Max Eberle as big as a goof as I now think?

Read the instructions in the diagram! He's putting in ZERO when he should be putting in 5400.

Look at the picture, it's right there!

I think you have a diagnosable delusion.
Yeah, and he explains exactly why he's doing that, which you don't understand. It's based on how he set up the experiment.

If you notice, the calculation of the drop over 34 miles ( 8 inches x 34 miles x 34 miles = 9248 inches / 12 = 770 feet) has nothing to do with his viewing vantage point. There is no 5400 feet to enter.

No, what he was demonstrating was that at 34 miles and 770 feet of drop, the peak of the mountain shouldn't be visible from his vantage point. Only 4630 feet would be above the horizon, which just happens to not be high enough for him to see it above the terrain in front of him.

This isn't even about math anymore. You frankly just don't want to understand what he was trying to show in the first place.

Oh, I do think that Bob understands now what the experiment was about. But he's just saying that the topographical map wasn't provided.

No. You're looking at a guy who has no concept of actual math and physics, postulating something based on perspective and vantage point, and passing it off as science. As Bob has also mentioned, there is no topographical map. All of these will change his "view".

You just seem to struggle with the explanations.

It's hardly an "experiment". It's a theory. He's found one case that goes along with his theory. We've explained his results. You just don't want to embrace the actual science and math. You've also offered videos as some form of proof. What they show is complete idiocy, in their working knowledge of math and physics.

Please stop posting.

You haven't provided squat to debunk anything in his vid.

Except there is a topo map in the vid. Go look at it again.

In an effort to set aside any unintended inferences resulting from my choice of links, I will let you google and choose your own source.

The earth is smoother than a pool ball.

Woulda thought you mo-rons woulda knowed that, being 8 ball hustlers and all.

Oh, we know that silly. But how much is it curved?

I don't know why this hasn't been brought up already, but you stated earlier that you don't necessarily think it's "flat", but you question the degree of curvature. So what you're saying is that you think that the earth is actually way way way way bigger?? That's the only other possible explanation.

Is it the size of Jupiter? Again then, all of our equations regarding gravity are completely wrong, except for the fact that they work super well when applied. Is the US really 5 times bigger than you've been told? How come your odometer is lying to you?!

Hey, Congrats. I was waiting for someone to bring this up. At least you have some level of deductive reasoning...

But actually, me personally -- I believe that this WHOLE universe is something like a virtual reality simulation. So I'm not the best person to address the actual size of the earth.

You are so f*****g right about that my friend.

*sigh*, he was trolling.

Well now I just feel silly.

Yeah, but you know. After your conspiracy poll thread....I was thinking about starting a series of threads about things in the world that I actually do believe....

Stay tuned....

Elon Musk will be so irritated with such nonsense of "earth is flat" in this day and age that he will send Max up into space in his next shuttle for free :)

... The earth is smoother than a pool ball.
Well, no, it isn't A typical Aramith pool ball is both smooth and round within 0.001 inches. That's one part in 2250. The Earth is ellipsoidal by about one part in 300, and has mountains and troughs that together range up and down by about 8 miles or one part in 1000. I think Dr. Dave had an article on this.

Here's what Wikipedia had to say about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Figure_of_the_Earth

I'm waiting for someone to tell me that pool balls are really flat. I used to have nightmares like that -- hockey pucks but somehow I could get draw on them.

Waste of time Spartan. Max might just claim the entire trip was staged on a movie set somewhere  .Just like the moon landings lol  .
