Is the IPT for real or isn't it?

I think that a golf type format for filming matches would be a pontentially good thing for pool....jumping from key matches to key matches....focus on a big upset taking place...that sort of thing...instead of just two people going at it...think back to the Ultimate 9-ball Challenge with the final matches of womens and mens being played and aired at the same time, that was fully enjoyable to me...

Nobodies wilting here buddy.

So why all the hostility are we making up for some sort of inadequacy?

My proposition was as always the same (I have an e-mail trail to prove it). If he leaves and they host $2000 regionals, I don't think I should pay you. If he's there in two years and they do as they say I hand over the cash...assuming again you can beat me. Man on Man...ya I really sound scared. I even insisted coming out to your barn. The words of a coward?

No insults.
No hiding behind my employer
You beat me. I lose...I beat you. You lose. Simple effective and open.

Real Rules...Real results...Real Winner.

Real Pool. Real Rules. Real Money blah blah blah
Same game. Essentially same rules. Shell game.

There used to be a great pool T-Shirt. It went like this, the first image was of a confident guy witha pool cool and the caption read "see Dick stroke." The next image showed Dick miscuing with the caption "See Dick choke." The next image showed Dick with empty pockets and the caption read, "see Dick broke". Under that was the admonition, "Don't be a Dick!"

Your proposition was that the IPT would not exist in two years, that KT would go to jail or KT would leave the IPT. The only part I had an issue with is the part about KT leaving the IPT. Who cares if he is actively involved in the IPT as long as it is a functioning entity?

Your contention is that KT will fold the IPT within two years, I say he won't. So the bet is REAL SIMPLE. If the IPT is still a functioning entity two years from now and KT does not go to jail(as you put it) then I win, with or without KT involved in it.

Since you are nothing but a corporate flunky working for a company that committed far more atrocities than KT has even dreamed of I can understand that you do not understand the way entrenpenuers work. I will give you a brief education. Most of them have diverse business interests. They very often start companies and turn them over to managers.

So either take away the meaningless part about KT being part of the IPT and we can bet or just admit that you are a nit.

Have a nice day working for a company that routinely supports the trampling of human rights,

Yeah, it's an inability to tolerate stupid people. Instead of just ignoring you like I should I continue to respond. Luckily for me you are just a form of cheap entertainment to fill the boring moments.

No bet on the IPT. Not because I think I can't win, but because you are a nit about it and want to structure it so that you have an easy out.

But if you care to come to "my barn" as you put it and just bet the farm against me in any pool game feel free.

John Barton - will be in Vegas at the Riviera from May 10th-June 3rd. Come and get me.

I could not agree with you more. The nature of pool is that it is ultimately a slow game (like golf) in relation to other sports. It would be much easier to keep the interest of the public by doing this. Furthermore we could just tune in when Danny Basivich is ready to take the shot!

Why can't you win?

Why can't you win? What makes my proposition a lock? Don't you believe in your man? As far as going to Vegas I'm sorry I won't be there.

Ask the guys from Vancouver. I play anything and would love to give you your chance to humble me.

Nick,

Just drop it. I have explained the reasoning four times now and you still don't get it. You come back with patronizing insults and I respond in kind.

Here. Put the original conditions verbatim on the forum and I'll accept them as you wrote them. My $100 US against your $500 US. Then we can leave each other alone for 24 months.

John

I just did

I just did. You don't seem to have a appetite for anything but insults.
As far as I'm concerned it's over.

No sir, I have an appetite for intelligent discourse. You started in with the private messages and the "bet". I merely pointed out the inconsistencies in your logic. At that point you bailed.

So, are you going to post the conditions and take the bet as you wrote them or are you going to crawfish?

John

Go ahead post them up

John,
Go ahead post them up. I'm done. Should you need them I have all our PM's. Your rants are full of venom. I suspect you didn't get enough breast milk as a baby. Should our paths ever cross we'll have to let our pool do the talking. It seems you live in Texas. About once a year I go down there on business. I'll PM you and we can make a date. We can then insult each other in person.

I'm done. Go back over the posts and assess where I insulted you. I spoke simply to my opinion of the IPT & KT. This I believe is my right.

That's kinda what I was thinking... John complained you were insulting, yet I went back all over the public posts and it seemed exactly the opposite

Anyway, someone needs to tape the two of you playing pool :D

Well, you didn't get the privilege of receiving his PMs.

Whatever. The guy barks. Then crawfishes. The disappears. Then comes back and repeats the performance.

So, yes I was being insulting. Deliberately so. Logic and reasonable discussion didn't work. I guess it's okay for him to be insulting to someone he doesn't even know, i.e. Kevin Trudeau. It's perfectly alright to make Kevin the antichrist while living in denial that your employer is guilty of human rights abuses. Makes no difference - some things are just impenetrable.

For the record - Nick works for Siemens (or so he says) not exactly the greatest model of corporate responsibility. I wonder how many people's ruined lives Siemens has had a part in. Perhaps next time a Burmese citizen is executed for stating their opinion and longing for Democracy, Nick can just blame Kevin instead of his corporate employer who does business with the oppressive Burmese government.

John, better to be insulting than a murderer.

Nick and John, this has gone too far.

As far as who works for whom, that has absolutely no place here.
The discussion is not productive and is not good for the board.

Please take it private in either PM or email or whatever way you wish to continue, but not in public.

I'm pretty tired, so forgive me if I'm overlooking something obvious... but right now, what exactly do you want them to be advertising?

"In three months, there will be a pocket billiards tournament paying out giant sums of cash. There will be seating for 500 people. Other than that, you won't be able to watch the tournament, or read about it in any sports section in the country."

I suppose if they get a TV contract, things would be different. And I agree it's a little disconcerting they don't have one yet. But, granting that they don't have a contract, I'll say it again - what exactly do you want them to be advertising or promoting?

As for a pool player on Leno, it's the same deal... what would they be promoting? A tournament that no one can watch?

And I also have spoken about the IPT with pool players (albeit casual) from my home room, and no joke, it's hit or miss if they have heard about the IPT. So I agree that there has been no exposure, but I'm just trying to supply what I think to be the reason for that: quite literally, the as-yet absence of a product.

I just went back and listened again to the Kevin Trudeau talks about the IPT Qualifying System tape and he says Quote" The North American open will be broadcast live around the world". The entire tape is just a pitch to send in money much like a TV late night evangelist. He says to get some friends together in your basement and each put up $200 and play a tournament so one can go to a qualifier. This is little more then asking for donations, it doesn't sound like the business plan of a well funded organization who is about to be doing big time live TV deals as he says.

They are begging for donations from non qualified players, in other words, what's $200. just give it to us. He even says at one point, (he like to play the subliminal game when he talks and plant thoughts, the guy is good at what he does) He says, and I quote "If you are a good player it will be easy to win a qualifier", Yea right. That tape sounds is little more then a desperate plea for money and they are coming up with every kind of crazy plan they can to pull in some money to fund this thing.

Where are the CD's of the king of the hill why aren't they on sale? They have hundreds of hours of tape that would bring in a lot money. Could it be they are at this point so inept or under funded they can't even complete that project? Just one more thing that makes no sense. People would be clambering to buy the CD's if they were available at a nice fair price
as well as it would create a thirst for more if they are good and a real buzz around the up coming tournaments.

Remember he said himself on the tape "Broadcast live around the world" and we are now just a few months away. Also regarding the CD's, wasn't this to be some of the money that would be distributed to the players? The players are the ones losing out due to the IPS's ineptness in getting the CD's ready to sell. Wouldn't it be in the IPT's best interest to get started paying their players at the earliest point. So far all the players have done except the ones that played in the KOTH is spend money.

Only 86 days left.

Get your licks in while you can.

Did I hear it wrong about the NA tournament being broadcast live around the world? Is it somewhere else on the web site or does this stuff just flow out of his mouth when Reverend Kevin is trying his best to get donations? Your the expert, maybe I missed it.

Just a couple of words.

Nobody succeeds without starting.
Nobody fails without trying to succeed.

To win a race you have to take the first step.
Taking the first step doesn't guarantee a win.
Never leaving the starting block assures the status quo.

KT is taking the risk. I'm sure he thinks it'll work but knows failure is possible. That's what gambling is.
A sure thing would be to buy some gov. bonds and sit back with his toes in the sand. Then what would
we complain about. Oh I know. Sure wish someone else would try to promote this game. I know
just how they should do it..........................................................

It took Emerson around 10,000 trys to perfect the lightbulb. Each attempt was a success. He learned from each one
how not to do it.

I agree, except they aren't taking steps but giant leaps. They are taking what could be a certain success if started and allowed to grow with the right management and turning it into a high risk less likely to succeed venture. The odds seem greater of them failing then succeeding and it doesn't have to be that way. KT has crashed numerous times with his over the top way of doing things and this may follow his pattern. You should read the psychologist report on him. The guy lives in his own reality.

I think you are missing the point here. Getting together 5 friends to put up $200 was a suggestion for an easy way to come up with the $1000 entry, not to give $200 to the IPT.

Mike and I are doing the same thing...running tournaments for $100 entry and for every $1000 collected, we will send a player to the Jillian's Seattle Q. Not a bad way for players to try to qualify without the huge upfront entry fee.

Interesting spin, so who ultimately get the $1000.? It is just a plan to extract money from suckers who have a less then zero chance of ever winning a qualifier by making the cost less painful. I suspect you have a motive, you get a cut of the proceeds yourself, am I right?
