Is this a snooker table or a pool table?

I want buy this if it's a 10 foot pool table... but when I zoom in, are these snooker pockets? You can look at the slate with it taken apart... I can't tell. The owner says it's a pool table but the pockets look so small (which is fine - I just want the rails to be pool height and not have those weird rounded demoralizing corners.)
Thank you!

It is hard to see, but those look like Snooker pockets to me. I can very vaguely see the Side Pockets too, with rounded off rails, instead of points on each side of the side pocket (like regular pool table side pockets would have). Looks like Snooker pockets, and they look tiny.

$8k seems insane though, but I am clueless about the market. Very beautiful table though.

Good luck.

Thanks everyone… it would be a project for sure. I don’t know why if I have my heart set on 10 Foot table someday

Looks like weather strip cushions as well.

If it really is 10’ slate I would buy it for $500. It is worth it for the 10’ slate alone, and you can store it somewhere until you figure out what you want to do with the build.

You can even make it into a full size carom table.

Slate has large pool cuts instead of snooker although that one far pocket definitely looks snookery. The visible side pocket looks to have flat pool facings instead. Any comment from the seller?

My vote is snooker. The assembled table pockets look very tight, which you won't come across in a banger's home if it was a pool table. Also in both the assembled picture, and the one with the rails leaning against the wall, it looks like there is only one diamond on the excact middle of the rail, rather than 3 diamonds per rail. Only snooker tables have one diamond.

If you really want it, I'd bet the seller will give it for free to get it out of his house. He's not going to have anyone knocking on his door for 500 for a pile of parts.

Me personally, I'd stay away if he paid me 500;)

Agreed with the above, that's a project there. Buyer better have some carpentry smarts, tools, storage and work space...and some strong friends.

I can't tell in the photos but how many dots on the rails?

One dot per rail is a snooker table, three dots is a pool/billiards.

I hate to say it but missing items not easily replaced are usually an issue with these "some assembly required" tables. A few more red flags. I would pass on this one although if it was close to you some good pictures might change my mind and others. While I too would like to have a ten foot table, I have seen people almost giving them away. The market is scarce for them. A gorgeous Brunswick laid around for months in a big market when it was offered for a thousand. I suspect it was eventually moved at a big discount.

I would jump all over a snooker table too. Those weird demoralizing corners get friendly once you find what they accept and what they don't. Snooker is only slightly harder than pool as I found when I played on a snooker table almost daily for several years. I used it as a practice table then went out and trounced people on pool tables. I don't recommend playing exclusively on a snooker table as it can alter shot selection and pattern play but playing on a snooker table and pool tables works great.
