I have a nice playing cue

its george player cue

medium brown stained birdseye maple forearm and butt sleeve
white cap with its george logo
stainless piloted 5/16x14 joint with 1 shaft 12.5mm
rolls very straight together and apart
medium tan colored gator wrap, sharp looking
cue is in good shape, some dings on the buttsleeve

I wanted about $225 shipped for the cue
Should I sell it or raffle it,

I will post some pics later on tonight

He now appears to be holding out for the highest offer. He told me $275. (I initially offered $190)

God, I hate that..... if you post an asking price and someone says they'll take it, you sell it. End of story.

And that is how someone winds up not being able to make a sale, no matter the price. I am absolutely with you on this. Set the price you want and take it when it is offered. The extra couple of bucks are not worth the damage to your integrity.

Hi guys,

I have talked to the seller and sent him the $225 as requested and it looks like a done deal. He said I was the first person that offered him the $225 and he held it until I emailed him, even though he had backup offers. There was no request for another bid. He's already sent me a shipping notice to let me know when it would be shipped. Communication was fast and the guy has a good Paypal verification history. So far, the deal seems good as gold...

that doesnt apply to him tho. he asked for 275 and hal offered 190 so he refused. now he changed his asking price to 225 which was met and he sold it immediately. i dont see that he did anything wrong. he asked for a higher amount initially and when that wasnt met he did a price drop which happens all the time on these forums.

and he wasnt holding out for a higher offer either as hunter has now proven. that was pure speculation on hals part. the only thing he did do was a price drop which i dont see a problem with.

No. No. No.

The original price was $225. I Pm'd offering $190. He replied saying that he has offers up to $265 and that I can have it for $275 and that I have one hour to make up my mind. That's when I made the post above.

I'm pretty certain I was the first to pm him a few minutes after he made the post. I told him that I would like to see pictures before committing to purchase as I wanted to see the gator wrap. Hunter committed to buy sight unseen so I am glad he got the cue at the posters asking price. I have no reason to believe that the seller is not legit.

Hunter if the cue is not what you had hoped for let me know as I would probably still be interested in the cue.

Thanks

Kevin

oh if it was like that then i stand corrected, my bad.

but its weird that he would jack up the price on u but accept 225 on someone else. i guess he was trying to haggle?

The first person that posted ended up with the cue. So all is well in my opinion. I'm just trying to show the seller what could potentially happen if he had gotten greedy. That's all.

Congrats to Hunter. It seems to be a good deal on a nice cue.

It really doesn't matter, but I am kind of confused with some of the posts in this thread. The seller only has 7 posts and it looks like this is his only posts about this cue(I may be wrong). I didn't click and read all his other posts-maybe he mentioned this cue there, but the threads were not about this cue. Anyway, it doesn't look like he edited his original post. Why would he tell Hal he wanted $275 for the cue, if in the posts he says he is looking for around $225 shipped? The way it seemed when I first read through the thread was that he had this cue for sale at some other time. I am just confused:confused: -not saying anything negative toward anyone.

I just read Hal's second to last posts and it makes a little more sense now!

I understand your point, Hal. I didn't know all that was going on, because I simply saw the post and made the offer (which never changed).

I'll let you all know how the deal goes and maybe post some pics!

Lets clear this up for all of you...
The cue sold and shipped to hunter.

Hunter was the first pm to offer me 225 which is the orginal asking price..

There were other offers to 265

ONCE HUNTER CONFIRMED AND PAID, it closed.

If he didnt, then I would have went with the highest offer

Because he was the first to offer and FOLLOW through with my original asking price, it went to him, yes I could have gotten an extra 30 bucks, but its not worth it... because he offered me what i wanted and paid...

there are a lot of "offerers" out there who like to talk but never reach in their damn pocket.

I do wish everyone a happy new year and good luck with your games.

NOTE: I have a really cool unknown ebony sneaky pete with hoppe ring and retro style cap coming to sell soon, I have an extra old "schon 13" shaft with it also, dead straight and hits great... I will post it and picks soon to see who might have made it and possibly sell or raffle it... thank you guys
