not knocking just made me laugh at an old memory(beautiful cue tho)

when i say the "its only 12.5k"

it reminded me of once i was with my mother when I was like 12yrs old, we were at a fine jewerly store at the new orleans river walk and she saw these beautiful tourmaline princess cut earrings with some little diamonds on the corners.

Well she asks the salesman to look at them and then asks "how much?"

The sales guys says "oh well mam' they are ONLY 35k DOLLARS."
just very cool calm and collected like my mother just had that in her wallet or something.

She follows back, very cool like and says "oh well thats only more than my house costs". LMAO i laughed so hard at that, and ill never forget the look on that sales guys face. It was classic.

Hey Ghost,
That is a funny story...

But, looking at this cue is like going into a Ferrari dealership and having sticker shock:)
Most people who know Schick's and read the title and open this thread will NOT be shocked at the price.
On the other hand maybe they will.. When's the last time you saw an Ivory Handle Schick for sale under 20k, forget about $12500..
The amount of Schicks made per year is very limited these days..

I looked at a Shick at the Midwest cue show with an ivory handle it had more detailed inlays and scrimshaw but if I'm not mistaken it was 48 or 49,000.00 so 12.5 sound pretty reasonalable.I looked at a lot of cues that day so it may have been a Black, but either way its a great looking cue

Nice cue. Are his cues all made 'by hand' or are they CNC ques?

He said he makes everything on his cues except the bumper and the joint pins which he has custom made..............I dont think it gets any better than that.

I'm a little surprised also. I think everyone has been watching the World Series. Give it time..

My god collectors, where are you?
If I had the means, this cue would have been gone in 5 min.
Awesome cue Kenny.

Great Cue

I'm a little surprised also. I think everyone has been watching the World Series. Give it time..

This cue, by this Hall of Famer, at this price is one of the best values for a rare and top collectible cue to come along in a long, long time!

This will not last long.

Very nice cue and I'm sure highly collectable. I really don't know much about these high end cues, how deep is the market? Approximately how many buyer (world wide) for these type of cues?

A) less than 100
B) 100 to 500
C) 500 to 1,000
D) more than a 1,000

Thanks

Steven

Hi Steven,
This is a good question. There are many collectors worldwide that have private collections that aren't on AZ and like to behind the scenes.

If you think about the amount of cues that have been sold and are on order from the likes of Szamboti, Ginacue,Hercek, Searing, Manzino, Haley, Schick, ect. There are Hundreds of cues valued at several thousands a piece being delivered every year. Also, Gus and George made 1000 cues each that are in circulation that do come up for sale..
You would be amazed at the amount of people that spend big money on cues.
The big boy cuemakers aren't having any problems getting orders, which should answer your question.
The economy will always play a role with collectors. But, there are alot of cues out there bigger then my Schick. This is the reason I priced it as I did. In years to come someone knows they have a great investment piece.
Best,
Ken
